With a smile so big, it is often hard to see this gentle giant being the largest force in the NBA today.  Dwight Howard often times is larger than life, leaving opponents without options to stop the big man.  Finally, Dwight will be on a legitimate title contender (Sorry Orlando) and teams will be looking for ways to slow down the all star center.  A few teams already have such kryptonite for Superman and we will point out the handful of players who have shown success against Dwight over their careers. As you see below, Dwight Howard has posted great stats for a big man averaging 18.4 points per game, 13 rebounds while shooting 57.7% from the field.  What makes Dwight so special is his ability to dominate on both ends of the court while managing to play over 36 minutes per game.  Most big men usually are skilled on one end of the floor over the other and battle a history of injuries and minutes. Kendrick Perkins The first tru...

Dwight Howard and Around the Horn's Tony Reali cameo on Disney cartoon (Video)

Personally, I don't find myself watching the Disney XD cartoon series, "Kick Buttowski" that often but when Lakers center Dwight Howard and Around the Horn host Tony Reali make a cameo on it, it needs to be seen.In an upcoming episode called "Rocked", Howard plays Rock Callahan (a action movie hero) that faces off against Reali's villain known as "...

Orlando Magic set bar for going low

We all knew the Orlando Magic would never receive a favorable return for Dwight Howard. OK, maybe we didnt know for certain -- but that sure seemed to be the chatter among opposing NBA front-office types. The longer the Magic held onto Howard, it was widely assumed, the less talent they would obtain. And not just because the Magics new GM is barely older than the water boy. Instead...

Howard: 'I Never Wanted Anybody To Hate Me'

Dwight Howard described the events surrounding his trade from the Magic.

Perkins Somewhat Disses The Lakers

Perk isn’t even sweating the reloaded Lakers, he’s looking past  them. Now that’s a championship mentality. “I knew the hype was going to be over there on them and all that. But I’m glad the attention is off us because we’re the type that likes to put our hard hats on and do stuff and keep it under the radar. And at the end of the day, when you look at the box score...

Magic fan suing team for using her likeness in promotions

Thirty-year old Orlando Magic fan Kristi Slavin has her face and upper body on buses, light-post banners and a tourist magazine because someone in the Magic marketing department thinks she’s pretty. And apparently she isn’t flattered – or she’s going for the American dream and looking to make a quick buck. Slavin and her attorney Hank Hornsby have filed a suit seeking...

World Peace wants Lakers to break Bulls' record for wins in a season

NBA training camps have not opened yet, but Lakers forward Metta World Peace has already established a rather outlandish goal for his team. In a recent radio interview, World Peace said the Lakers - who have added Dwight Howard and Steve Nash to a team that already includes Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol - are out to break the NBA record for the best regular-season record, which is...

Kendrick Perkins is offended by all the Los Angeles Laker talk

Kendrick Perkins is kinda surly, never really smiles, but is kinda peeved about all the Los Angeles Laker talk. He’s upset that the Lakers and their super moves this off-season has the media dubbing the Lakers the 2013 NBA Champs, but Perkins does not like it one bit. “I knew the hype was going [...]

Perk on the Lakers: We’re not chasing nobody

Our favorite Western conference center – Kendrick Perkins – didn’t mince words (shocking, I know) when asked about the revamped Lakers: “We are the Western Conference champs,” Perkins said. “So at the end of the day, we’re not chasing nobody except for the ring. We’re chasing Miami to get a championship. It’s no guarantee who is going to be where. But we earned...

Thunder C Kendrick Perkins Says OKC Is Chasing the Heat For a Championship, Not Lakers

Mike Ehrmann/Getty ImagesMany people are already jumping on the Los Angeles Lakers bandwagon in that they're the team to beat in the Western Conference after acquiring such players like Dwight Howard, Steve Nash and Antawn Jamison.Even Lakers forward Metta World Peace is dubbing that his team will not be beat for the upcoming season. However, for Oklahoma City Thunder center...

Kendrick Perkins isn't worried about the Lakers

Kendrick Perkins sounds more agitated and angry than usual these days. While his mean mug is always curled up in time for the regular season, it appears he is already wearing it around right now. We have not even hit training camp yet. When asked about his thoughts on the Dwight Howard addition for the rival Lakers -- a question Kevin Durant answered by saying he does not...

Kendrick Perkins Believes In The Status Quo

It’s only been about three months since Miami defeated Oklahoma City in the NBA Finals, but a lot has changed in the Western Conference.  By a lot, I mean the Los Angeles Lakers.  As you know, the Purple & Gold have added a bushel of current and former All-Stars.  These additions go by the names of Steve Nash, Antawn Jamison, and Dwight Howard, and many figure that they’ll...

Kendrick Perkins doesn’t like all the Lakers talk

No question the Los Angeles Lakers have made the most news of any team in the off season. After the NBA Finals Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder were still the clear favorites to get back to the NBA Finals . However now the Lakers have traded for Steve Nash and Dwight Howard and only shipped Andrew Bynum out. So how about Thunders starting center Kendrick Perkins...

2013 NBA Preview: Roundtable Volume 2

With the 2012-13 NBA season fast approaching, we as fans take this time to make ridiculous predictions. How many people do you know have picked the Lakers to win the championship next season simply because of Dwight Howard? There’s no logic, no reason in that whatsoever. What makes our jobs here at 110sportz so fun is the fact that we get to use reason and logic to actually argue...

To Playoff or not?

This is the question Magic fans and, really, the whole organization has to address during these down times. There are plenty of jokes (I am guilty of it too) about the Magic's tanking and draft prospects. It is a pretty straight dismissal of any and all of the Magic's chances to do anything this season. It has reminded many of the Heart and Hustle team and hope has seaped...
