Seeing Darius Miles and his played out "double fist head tap" routine last night on the court with the Memphis Grizzlies made me shake my head, laugh, and smile as I look back to his time in Cleveland. He has made headlines of late, thanks to the Portland Trail Blazers threat of a lawsuit on any team that signs him (thanks to his "career ending" injury and the Portland cap space situation). Believe it or not folks, while you may view Mark Price, Brad Daughrety, and Austin Carr as perhaps the most important Cavaliers in history, I for one put the lanky, straight out of high school, lottery bust in the same category. Indulge me if you will?..

  • Darius has put up some nice numbers the past two games: Friday, 10 points, 7 rebounds, 5 of 8 shooting in 14 minutes vs. Utah; Tuesday, 13 points, 4 of 6 shooting in 13 minutes vs. Cleveland. Not bad for a guy declared medically unfit to play. Can we get someone to do that for Kaman?

  • Miles scored over 50 points once, in a game as a Blazer. Hence their willingness to sign him up in such a big contract. Yet, it wasn't just his injury that made the Blazers want to dump him. Tons of talent. Zero drive (beyond getting paid). The Blazers paid a high price for the lesson they learned from signing him! He can play though.
