Found February 02, 2013 on Celtics Green ...a boston celtics blog.:
Tommy has been saying all year that the Celtics need to run more and pass more and advance the ball quicker. He was always frustrated with Rondo walking the ball up. He's enjoying the way this Celtics team is playing out of necessity with Rondo gone. As a matter of fact, so am I. They are running, advancing the ball quickly with the pass, and getting into the paint more. I hope they keep it up. Tonight's Honey Dew List: "Keep the diversity going, they were so successful w/ all those guys scoring multiple figures, and limit the 3's!" — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) February 2, 2013 I know that Orlando isn't a great rebounding team, but it was kind of exciting to at least see the Celtics as a team putting out effort on the boards. When they work at it, they do pretty well. It's frustrating when they stand around and not go after them. I think they know now that each one of them have to work at it. Again, I hope they keep it up. 2 early OREBs for Boston. Mike: "Don't get too excited, Orlando's not a great rebounding team." "It is what it is when it is that." — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) February 2, 2013 Tommy is so funny sometimes. I had to laugh at this one. Big Baby will always have to fight his weight and I have a feeling that Sully might have that problem as well. I hate seeing players with season ending injuries. It seems like it's been a trend over the last couple of years. The Celtics had 2 last year and 2 again this year. The Magic also have been hit hard with injuries this season as have the Wolves. On Big Baby going down: "I think he put on a little weight...It's like we used to say, he's always one hamburger away from obscurity." — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) February 2, 2013 The whole team has been enjoyable to watch the past few games. They are running and look like they are having fun playing. I think that was missing the first part of the season. I really like Chris Wilcox and it's puzzling why he isn't getting more minutes. He said his thumb is fine. Especially with Sully out now, we should be playing him more. Wilcox drives and scores: "The second unit is enjoyable to watch!" — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) February 2, 2013 I agree with Tommy. I don't think we need Redick. I think we need another big more. We have 2 open roster spots. Danny could sign someone without having to trade anyone and mess up chemistry further. But then again, it would add to the lux tax hit. I know he'll do something but with Danny, you never know what. C's in on J.J. Reddick? "He's like a Ray Allen type of player & everybody thinks that's what they need. I think they need some big people." — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) February 2, 2013 I love how aggressive Green has been the past couple games. Is it that he's more comfortable? Is it the un-Rondo effect? Who knows, but I hope he keeps it up!! Green gets the ball on the corner and drives in for a quick layup: "That was like a home run!" — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) February 2, 2013 Since they are moving the ball up quicker and using passes more than walking it up, they are less predictable than when one player initiated the offense every time down, they are getting a lot more easy shots. Of course, this was just the Magic. It will be interesting to see if they can still do the same against the Clippers on Sunday. Barbosa lays another up: "It just keeps going like water flowing to the ocean!!!" — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) February 2, 2013 And for his aggressive play and his overall good game, Jeff Green wins the Tommy Award. "A lot of people could have won this award, but Jeff Green...got a chance to pound his chest tonight, and for that he wins the #TommyAward!" — Tommy Heinsohn (@CSNTommy) February 2, 2013 [Discuss on CG Forums!]

Now we'll see who really bleeds green

This crew will always bleed green! We all know what has happened to the Celtics in the last week and yes it does suck(sorry for the language Mom). However, that is no reason to give up on this team. Celtics Nation has been spoiled these last 5 years. Sure, we've only won one title, but we are a contender every year which is more than 99% of sports teams can say. I began...

From The Invisible Man, to Iron Man

Back in mid-2011 when the Boston Celtics (infamously) traded for Jeff Green, many C's fans had different views on what he could bring to the Green. Personally, I was pretty optimistic about Green, as he was averaging 13 PPG & 5 RPG, in 32 minutes per contest, of course as a starter in Oklahoma City. Jeff Green had appeared to be a fixture for the future of OKC along with...

Green Envy: What Orlando Magic Fans Said - Feb. 1, 2013

The Boston Celtics won their third-straight game without Rajon Rondo on the floor. With a 97-84 trouncing of the Orlando Magic, Boston is back at .500. Their 23-23 record has them holding tight for the eight-seed in the Eastern Conference. The Magic fans seem fairly reserved to their fate as a cellar team in the East right now, and could definitely use some sort of pick-me-up. ...

Jeff Green’s Huge Fourth Quarter Dunk Punctuates Celtics’ Win Over Magic (Video)

The Celtics won big on Friday, trampling the Magic 97-84. During the fourth quarter of the game Jeff Green did what Jeff Green does, putting home a monster dunk to the delight of the TD Garden crowd. The slam put the Celtics up by 21 at that point, en route to the team’s third consecutive win without point guard Rajon Rondo, and first without rookie wonder Jared Sullinger. Check...

A Green Uprising

Depleted as the Celtics currently are they still have enough in their tank to demolish an equally-depleted Magic squad tonight, 97-84.  One of the heroes of tonight's contest was Jeff Green who was absolutely electric with three (or was it four?) emphatic slams en route to registering 17 points, 4 boards, 4 dimes and 3 blocks in 29 minutes off the bench.  And I like how he...

Jeff Green Displays Dunk Reel Against the Orlando Magic, Becoming A Common Trend (Video)

As CSNNE’s Mike Gorman stated in last night’s game, “well we are getting one of those a game.” That is for sure. Despite the injuries, Celtics fans were spoiled last night with the dunk show from Courtney Lee but also Jeff Green. Green, the rising star for the Boston Celtics, is filling in the void of scoring for Rajon Rondo and Jared Sullinger but more so presenting an identity...

Celtics upcoming west coast trip will be telling

Last night, the Celtics did what we have been expecting them to do against bad teams; they were able to maintain a double digit lead going into the fourth quarter.  It was a thing of beauty(mostly); The Jet looked like a naval aircraft taking off the flight deck and Jeff Green somehow seemed like he finally found his moxie and Leandro Barbosa finally got the minutes he deserved...

Other Shoe Drops on the Celtics- Sully to Miss Rest of the Season

Life is indeed cruel. Just as Celtics fans were starting to feel good about the rest of the season without Rondo, they get another blow that may be even tougher to take. Jared Sullinger will undergo back surgery and will miss the rest of the season. Last year it was Jeff Green and Chris Wilcox with heart surgery and this season it's Rondo's knee and Sully's back...

Boston Celtics Win Easy

The Celtics win easy going away 97-84 against the Orlando Magic. Paul Pierce had 14 points on 5-10 shooting with 11 rebounds and 7 assist. Jeff Green had 17 points with 3 blocks coming off the bench. The Celtics are on a 3 game winning streak without Rondo, lets hope we can keep this going through out the season. The Celtics win easy going away 97-84 against the Orlando Magic. Paul...

Fab Melo activated for tonight’s game vs Magic

Sounds like Fab Melo will be insurance for Jared Sullinger’s back. Expect Chris Wilcox (17 min, 6 points vs Sac) to get the extra time.
