We all know that drafting is an inexact science because some #1 picks end up a bust (see Michael Olowokandi) and some second round picks end up stars (see Manu Ginobili). But even more inexact is the science of predicting the draft via mock drafts. A trip around the internet shows that beyond Anthony Davis being picked first, no one really knows what is going to happen in this draft.
I checked out 18 different mock drafts and found 16 different names penciled in for the Celtics with the 21st and 22nd picks. Add this to the fact that Chad Ford has said that the Celtics gave a promise to one player while other writers have said that they haven't made any promises. I tend to agree with those who say that no promises have been given. And it appears that, given the number of different names attributed to the Celtics in the different mock drafts, not many others believe that the Celtics have made a promise either.

Doc Rivers on Ray Allen interest around the NBA: ‘We’re interested, too’
We’ve all witnessed the movie scene where the scorned lover runs off and his/her partner, normally after a moment of introspection, chases in pursuit. Rain normally pounds from the sky, for production value, and maybe the two lovers argue once they meet each other on the side of the road, or maybe at an airport, with an airplane awaiting to whisk the scorned lover away. They...
Boston Celtics’ EuroTrip dates announced
Shortly after Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett first arrived in Boston, the Celtics took a preseason EuroTrip which was said to help them form a tight bond prior to a season that would eventually yield 66 regular-season wins and one NBA title. The Celtics also benefited that season from having three superstars very close to their absolute primes, a supporting cast that included the...
Celtics granted extra draft pick from OKC because of Jeff Green’s heart condition
There was a problem connecting to Twitter.I’m happy the Celtics picked up another draft pick from OKC. I definitely am. But I want to lock that trade into a storage room and never look at it or think about it ever again. Why must things continue to remind me of that trade? And why am I STILL not over it, even as Kendrick Perkins struggled drastically in the NBA playoffs? Ugh...
Ryan Hollins Heads Into Free Agency Having Found Kindred Spirit in Kevin Garnett With Celtics
Ryan Hollins played 5 1/2 seasons in the NBA and never found a big man he clicked with quite like Kevin Garnett. Hollins showed almost immediate improvement when he landed in Boston on March 23, meshing with Garnett and forming an occasionally impenetrable defensive duo in the post. The 17-year veteran even went to unusual lengths to mentor Hollins, 27, a gesture the younger player...

Rumors: Knicks, Heat have little cash for Ray Allen
Going forward, the Heat may look to add to their wing position to make it easier to have James play more minutes at one of big man spots. There are some veteran point guards like Nash, Miller or even Jason Kidd out there but the Heat likely have more of a need for a shooter. Adding Nash, for example, would create incredible star power but it would also require the Heat to potentially...
NBA Draft needs Atlantic Division
Boston Celtics
The Celtics are really in need of a center. Currently the Celtics don’t really have a true center on their roster. During the Celtics playoff run Kevin Garnett mostly played center but he is really a true power forward. Garnett’s future with the Celtics is uncertain.
The Celtics could also really use an athletic wing player or a shooting guard if Ray...
Report: Celtics pursuing Jamal Crawford
The Celtics have a lot of needs. They really could use some size to help their horrible rebounding situation. I mean, imagine how different things would have been if they could have been at least an average rebounding team?
You can also say “imagine how different things would have been had they had a reliable scorer off the bench?” Which is why the Celtics are among...

The Boston Celtics Mock Draft Consensus
With the NBA Draft days away, the mystique of the “mock

save you the hassle of going to those NBA mock draft websites that you only go
to once a year, I’ve come up with a solution. I have taken the liberty of reading

Celtics get 2013 second-round pick from Thunder
The NBA settled a dispute centered around Jeff Green's medical condition by awarding the Boston Celtics a second-round pick in 2013 from the Thunder. Green was traded in 2011 in the deal that landed Kendrick Perkins in Oklahoma City and Nate Robinson plus the Thunder's first-round pick in Thursday's draft in Boston. Green missed the 2011-12 season only after he failed...
