When Seattle lost its beloved pro basketball team in 2008 to Oklahoma City, many hearts were broken. How could a team with such a passionate fan base be exiled to a city that most fans thought didn’t even deserve a team? Well Seattle, your opportunity to shine once more has possibly arrived.
There is a potential investor from Seattle named Chris Hansen who is interested in buying the Sacramento Kings and moving the team to Seattle. This would bring back a storied franchise to a city dying for another opportunity to have an NBA team.
As a fan of this sport, you have to feel conflicted (I know I do). Yanking a franchise from one city to another may seem great for the league but in reality it creates a divide between the organization and the fan base. The Sacramento Kings have some of the most passionate and intense fans out there. If this deal does indeed go down, there will be no end to the amount of negative criticism directed toward the league.
