The trade deadline is less than 24 hours away. While the Boston Celtics are not expected to make any major moves, the news that Chris Wilcox won't be returning this season due to upcoming aortic surgery paired with the uncertainty surrounding Jermaine O'Neal leaves the team with a lack of size. And it doesn't look like Chris Kaman will be a possibility unless the Celtics want to part with one of the Big 3. This leaves me with 2 wishes for bench bigs: former Celtics Leon Powe and Semih Erden. Both are familiar with the Celtics system and would probably have less of an adjustment joining the team than a complete newcomer. And while Semih might be a reach, Powe seems more of a possibility. Shortly after the Wilcox announcement, news circulated Twitter that Leon Powe just left Atleticos de San German, the Puerto Rican team he was playing for. Coincidence?
