Russell Westbrook scored 32 points, Kevin Durant had 23 points and 17 rebounds and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Portland Trail Blazers 106-92 on Friday night to win their fourth straight home opener. Kevin Martin, taking over James Harden's role as the top-scoring bench player, added 19 points as Oklahoma City pulled away in the fourth quarter. Martin hit a 3-pointer and a runner during an 11-2 spurt that extended the Thunder's lead to 95-81 with 4:05 remaining. LaMarcus Aldridge led Portland with 22 points and 15 rebounds and first-round pick Damian Lillard followed a sizzling debut with 21 points and seven assists. The Trail Blazers were unable to follow up their surprising opening win against the Los Angeles Lakers, while Oklahoma City bounced back from a loss to San Antonio that at least temporarily shifted the focus off Harden's departure. The NBA's Sixth Man of the Year was traded on Saturday night, shaking up the Thunder's second line before they...

Thunder will be fine without Harden

OKLAHOMA CITY James Harden went off again. Yeah, him. Somehow, I get the feeling people around these parts are going to be talking about Harden this season. A lot. Forget the first-guessing, that's too difficult. It's all second-guessing now. It's a full-blown case of, "Should they or shouldn't they have traded Harden," and it's infected everyone...

Kevin Martin Filling Shoes Harden Left Behind

Filling the shoes of James Harden in Oklahoma City is no easy task. However, through two games, Kevin Martin has proved that he’s up to the challenge. The biggest concern for the Thunder coming into the first week of the season was how long it would take Martin to mesh with his new team and his [...]

Jeff Teague Dunks All Over Kevin Durant

Jeff Teague got nasty during the second quarter of the Atlanta Hawks and Oklahoma City Thunder game on Sunday night. Teague got a clear opening to the hoop, drove to the basket, and took off to dunk directly over Kevin Durant. The dunk was vicious and Teague did not apologize to KD as far as we know. via EOB Article found on: Cosby Sweaters

Thunder-Spurs Preview

The Oklahoma City Thunder already faced a daunting task in trying to return to the NBA finals. That might have gotten even more difficult after last weekend's trade. The Thunder now have to make another push for a title without reigning Sixth Man of the Year James Harden, a quest they begin on the road Thursday night in a Western Conference finals rematch against the San Antonio...

Video: Duncan obliterates Ibaka, Durant while Parker crushes Thunder

The San Antonio Spurs won a nail-biter against the Oklahoma City Thunder last night 86-84 thanks to a game-winning shot by Tony Parker.  The entire game was filled with many highlight-worthy plays but none were bigger than Tim Duncan smashing one down on shot-blocker extraordinaire Thunder's Serge Ibaka, blocking scoring machine Kevin Durant and Parker's game winner...

Trail Blazers-Thunder Preview

Circumstances have changed for the Oklahoma City Thunder since they last played a meaningful home game. The Thunder have won their last three home openers heading into Friday night's matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers. The last time Oklahoma City was preparing to play at home, it was Game 2 of the NBA Finals against Miami after the Thunder took the opener. The Heat, of...

Spurs vs. Thunder Preview

The NBA decided not to wait too long to give us a rematch of last year’s Western Conference Finals. The Oklahoma City Thunder open their season tonight in San Antonio against a Spurs team that they sent packing before falling short against the Miami Heat in the Finals.   The Thunder will look a little different this year after trading reigning Sixth Man of the Year James...

Hawks-Thunder Preview

While the most recent addition to the Oklahoma City Thunder likely won't hinder the team's chemistry, it might take some time for the Atlanta Hawks and their new faces to come together. The Thunder look to build on their first win when they host the Hawks on Sunday night. Russell Westbrook scored 32, Kevin Durant had 23 points with 17 rebounds and veteran newcomer Kevin...
