San Antonio Spurs
OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma City Thunder hopes to make more noise in the Western Conference finals that it did last year. A year after losing in five games to the Dallas Mavericks for a berth in the NBA Finals, the Thunder will play the San Antonio Spurs in the West's championship series. Game 1 will be Sunday in San Antonio. Setting up the matchup with the top-seeded Spurs wasn't much of a problem for second-seeded Oklahoma City, which closed out the Los Angeles Lakers in five games. Russell Westbrook scored a team-high 28 points, Kevin Durant added 25 points, and the Thunder won 106-90 in Game 5 on Monday night inside Chesapeake Energy Arena. Kobe Bryant scored a game-high 42 points, and Pau Gasol had 14 points and a game-high 16 rebounds for the Lakers. While continuing its rapid rise to elite status, the Thunder got a small measure of redemption from two seasons ago, when the Lakers ousted a younger, more inexperienced Oklahoma City squad in six games in the ...

It would appear that the longer the Thunder stick around in the playoffs, the more ridiculous outfits we are going to see from Russell Westbrook. He has already made the Steve Urkel glasses a wardrobe mainstay, but Westbrook is obviously aiming to outdo himself with crazy shirts and now fruity pants. After the Thunder won Game 1, Westbrook took the podium wearing this masterpiece...
ALL THAT AND 1

Russell Westbrook can switch gears in a matter of seconds and when it mattered most for the Oklahoma City Thunder, he did it again during the Thunder’s knockout win against the Lo Angeles Lakers. Check out the circus shot that Russ made while getting fouled. Pretty incredible.

During the third quarter of last nights Thunder – Lakers playoff game, Russell Westbrook intercepted a pass from Ramon Sessions intended for Kobe Bryant. As Westbrook stormed down the court, Sessions tried to wrap him up, but Westbrook got a shot off.

That just happened.
Kobe Bryant can’t even believe it. Either...
It’s not as if I didn’t pick the Oklahoma City Thunder to come out of the west at the top of the season. So at some point, that meant the Lakers would be going fishing. But, the act of watching the Lakers go out is painful. The Thunder are just the better team. They have [...]
The spotlight will be on the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder's point guard matchup -- Tony Parker versus Russell Westbrook. Both All-Star guards have their team's peaking at the right moment and both are headed for a collision course this Sunday in San Antonio.
For Parker, he has faced Devin Harris and Chris Paul en route to the Western Conference Finals while...
The Oklahoma City Thunder are headed to the Western Conference Finals to face the San Antonio Spurs. The turning point of the game came when Russell Westbrook made an incredible shot. With a little bit of luck involved.
With the game tied at 70 near the end of the 3rd quarter Westbrook came up with a huge steal. It was him and the Lakers Ramon Sessions in a race...
Tony Parker says Russell Westbrook hasn't faced another point guard in these playoffs quite like him.
The marquee matchup of the Western Conference finals will be the dueling All-Stars. Parker said Wednesday that his Oklahoma City counterpart is in for something different than what the Thunder saw the first two rounds.
Parker said ''it's not going to be like Dallas...
Russell Westbrook scored 28 points, Kevin Durant added 25 points and 10 rebounds, and the Oklahoma City Thunder surged ahead in the second half to beat Los Angeles 106-90 in Game 5 on Monday night and eliminate the Lakers from the playoffs.

With all the creativity that these NBA fellows have been putting into their wardrobes I wondered how much of this is allowed under the dress code. Well, you will be happy to know that…ALL OF IT is. The NBA dress code isn’t nearly as strict as I remember. Here’s a little refresher:
Oklahoma Thunder's Kevin Durant (right) and Russell Westbrook (left) are fashion risk takers...
Monday night was a great night for the Oklahoma City Thunder organization. They took another step in the right direction, beating the Los Angeles Lakers 4-1 in the Western Conference Semifinals to advance to the WCF. But I am not writing about Kevin Durant or Russell Westbrook or how well the Thunder played against the Lakers. I am writing about the aftermath of the Thunder’s...
The Thunder could have looked at Saturday's 13-point deficit with eight minutes left and mentally checked out. A loss to the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 4 wouldn't have been the end of the world. After all, Oklahoma City would have headed home with the series tied 2-2 knowing that it could advance without having to win a game at Staples Center. But the Thunder didn't...
Are you there, God? It's me, Unemployed20) Pau Gasol came out with his He's Mad and Doesn't Want To Be Blamed For Everything face, but he's not in good enough shape or heart to hold that for more than a half at a time19) Russell Westbrook has adapted well to the lax standards of playoff technical fouls18) Devin Ebanks gave the Lakers some chasedown blocks tonight...
