Heading into the third quarter on Monday, the San Antonio Spurs were only trailing the Oklahoma City Thunder by five points. However 12 minutes of basketball can make a huge impact as the Spurs ended up going into the fourth quarter down 18 points. The Thunder used an instrumental defensive third quarter to put the clamps on the Spurs as they held the Spurs to making 6-of-18 shots, six turnovers,  and only scoring 16 points in the quarter, while Oklahoma City put up 29 points on the scoreboard. The Spurs were once again depleted on the perimeter Monday as Manu Ginobili and Kawhi Leonard didn’t play, but they got a familiar face back on the bench as Stephen Jackson made his return to the court. Here’s the rundown of the Spurs’ loss in Oklahoma City, where for one half it looked like a competitive game, then it turned into a blow out, and in the end a French kid tried to bring the team back but it wasn’t enough against a team that won its 11th game in a row. First Quar...

Kendrick Perkins busts out odd follow through

Oklahoma City Thunder big man Kendrick Perkins doesn't step out for jump shots very often.  We found out why that is last night against San Antonio.  After his jump shot he almost went down on one knee with his hand strait up in the air.  Almost a cross between the Tebow and the Nation of Domination Fist Pump. Check out the shot in the video below. Check out our...

Pop raves about rookie De Colo

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has gotten the reputation from Spurs fans that he doesn't usually play rookies, especially with a veteran team around them. This year is different and this player isn't exactly a rookie either since he's played professional basketball overseas.  Nando De Colo has been described as "Manu Ginobili Jr." by some...

Matchup of the Game: Spurs vs Thunder

The matchup of the game when Oklahoma City Thunder play host to the San Antonio Spurs is between Tony Parker and Russell Westbrook. In their last meeting, both players had great games with 14 points and 11 assists from Parker and 18 points, 5 assists, and 8 rebounds from Westbrook. San Antonio will likely be without guard Manu Ginobili (quad contusion) and that will have...

Thabo Sefolosha Clamping Down Defensively Helps Make Thunder Best Team in NBA

The Oklahoma City Thunder needed a jumpstart against the Spurs, so coach Scott Brooks went to the player he often turns to in times of need. And Thabo Sefolosha, as he often does, delivered. That is correct. Sefolosha, the 28-year-old guard who has started every game he has played in the last four seasons, yet whom few casual fans would recognize if you gave them a signed photo,...

Even with Duncan’s big night, Spurs fall to Nuggets

31 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 blocks, 2 steals, 9-of-10 free throws, and just 2 turnovers in 40 minutes of play. The above numbers were produced by San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan on Wednesday in the Spurs’ 112-106 loss to the Denver Nuggets, just a day after the Spurs fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The first, second, and fourth quarters were all competitive...

Ibaka, Thunder spank Spurs

Serge Ibaka tied his career-best with 25 points and grabbed a season-high 17 rebounds, and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the San Antonio Spurs 107-93 Monday night to maintain sole possession of the best record in the NBA. The Thunder took control with a string of 11 straight points during the third quarter, punctuated by Nick Collison's putback that made it 71-56 with 4:27...

Thunder win early West showdown with Spurs

OKLAHOMA CITY -- It's December, and NBA statements in December get lost because of a number of things ranging from it's too soon to the fact it's still football season. But Monday, all things considered and there were a number of considerations to make the Thunder statement-ized as loudly and effectively as they possibly could in front of another sellout crowd inside...

Parker nominated for FIBA's best European player of the Year

San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker has a packed NBA resume full of accolades. From being an NBA All-Star, a candidate for the NBA MVP, and NBA champion to winning the 2007 NBA Finals MVP, Parker's trophy case is quite full. Well Parker might want to create some space on that shelf. TP has been nominated for FIBA’s European Player of the Year in 2012. Parker is joined...

Celtics' Pierce comments on difficulty of defending Spurs

The days when the San Antonio Spurs had one dimensional players besides the "Big 3" of Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginobili are gone. The Spurs no longer rely on a simple pick and roll along with a Tim Duncan "4 Down" like they used to in a predictable offense. Now the Spurs have a whole team full of versatile players who can dribble, drive, kick the...

Wade Boggs Shows Off Fantastic Dance Moves at Oklahoma City Thunder Game (Video)

Wade Boggs isn’t in the Baseball Hall of Fame because of his dance moves, but that doesn’t mean the 12-time All-Star can’t move and shake. Boggs recently took in an Oklahoma City Thunder game, and when the cameras came around to acknowledge the 2005 Cooperstown inductee, he decided to cut a little rug. Boggs delighted the crowd with a closed-eye, shoulder-shake, hand-clap combo...

Spurs-Nuggets Preview

The road seems to be taking its toll on the San Antonio Spurs. The Denver Nuggets are trying to prevent that from happening to them.
