Two of the NBA's best rebounders, Kevin Love and DeMarcus Cousins, are set to renew acquaintances again. Cousins, however, hasn't been much of a factor against Love's Minnesota Timberwolves this season. The home team has won every matchup between Cousin's Sacramento Kings and the Timberwolves heading into Monday night's meeting of last-place teams at Power Balance Pavilion. Love is averaging 13.7 rebounds to rank second in the NBA, while Cousins is fourth at 11.1 boards per game. Minnesota's star has played in two of the three meetings between the clubs this season, averaging 27.0 points and 11.0 rebounds. Love continues to lead the NBA with 45 double-doubles. Cousins has appeared in all three matchups, totaling 29 points and 16 rebounds while shooting 10 of 29 shooting. He's been plagued by foul trouble every time, failing to log 25 minutes in any of the three contests and totaling 13 fouls. Minnesota (25-29) dropped into last place in the Northwes...

Battered Wolves look to rebound against Kings

Two of the NBA's best rebounders, Kevin Love and DeMarcus Cousins, are set to renew acquaintances again. Cousins, however, hasn't been much of a factor against Love's Minnesota Timberwolves this season. The home team has won every matchup between Cousin's Sacramento Kings and the Timberwolves heading into Monday night's meeting of last-place teams at Power Balance...

Ridnour's injury leaves Wolves thin at the point

MINNEAPOLIS See the point guard collapsed on the court, clutching his right ankle? The one the Minnesota Timberwolves struggled to replace in the fourth quarter of Monday's 116-108 loss in Sacramento, the one who'd denied injuries for weeks despite bruises and ice packs, constant stiffness and pain?He was supposed to be traded. At least, that's what speculation said...

Ridnour is added to the Wolves' list of injuries

It was one injury too many. Blink, and you missed it. But count the players on the court in the final minutes of the third quarter of Monday's 116-108 loss to Sacramento, and there was something off. Instead of following the pack of players down the hardwood, point guard Luke Ridnour lay writhing on the sideline, clutching his right ankle, which just moments later the team confirmed...

Wolves dealt with multiple nagging ailments

MINNEAPOLIS Dressed in street clothes on the Timberwolves' bench, Nikola Pekovic must be in pain. There's the sharp hurt of the bone spurs in his right ankle, but there's also a duller ache, the pain that comes with sitting and watching, being unable to stop his team from losing. Pekovic never fell. He was never powerless to get up off the court, and the drama of his...

Timberwolves overdub retro footage from the ’70s to promote team (videos)

The Minnesota Timberwolves are having a renaissance of sorts as it pertains to NBA relevancy, and one needn’t look much further than the amount of team-made and fan-created viral videos that have been circulating the interwebs since the beginning of this season. And while Ricky Rubio’s season-ending knee injury let the air out of any [...]

Kings G Thornton exits with bruised calf

Sacramento Kings leading scorer Marcus Thornton left Monday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves with a bruised calf. Thornton had four points in eight minutes before leaving. The team said he would not return. Thornton entered Monday's game averaging 19.0 points and 3.8 rebounds for Sacramento.

Will Kyrie Irving shut it down before running away with NBA ROY?

Before Ricky Rubio went down with a season ending knee injury in Minnesota, the Spanish point guard was in a close race with Cleveland’s  Kyrie Irving for who would take home NBA Rookie of the Year honors this season.  Rubio tearing his ACL in early March changed that debate and Irving’s been the front-runner ever since. But is the Cavs’ point guard and former overall...

How Good Can The Sacramento Kings Become?

I just saw the Sacramento Kings play in Salt Lake City against the Utah Jazz, and while I was there to watch my favorite team play in their home building for the first time, I was also excited to see the young and exciting Sacramento Kings. The Kings are not having a very good season. They are 18-34, and are last in the Pacific Division. But unlike other teams that are bad, they...

Kings 116, Timberwolves 108

Tyreke Evans had 24 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists and the Sacramento Kings topped the slumping Minnesota Timberwolves 116-108 on Monday night. The Kings opened the fourth quarter with an 11-0 run and never trailed the rest of the way. Sacramento entered the game having lost five of six. The Kings made their free throws in the closing minute to secure the victory and move...

Timberwolves-Trail Blazers Preview

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been unable to string together consecutive wins since the last time they faced the Portland Trail Blazers, but it's been even longer since the Blazers won two in a row. While neither of these struggling Northwest Division teams will be able to accomplish that feat Sunday night in Portland, one will pick up a much-needed victory. Minnesota goes...

Vanilla Ice performed during halftime of last night’s Minnesota Timberwolves game

Vanilla Ice was the halftime entertainment for the Timberwolves-Celtics game last night in Minnesota. Ice’s, or Vanilla’s, performance include him wearing a Kevin Love jersey, backup dancers, and a smoke machine. All this to set the ambiance while he delighted the Minnesota crowd with his catalog of hits like “Ice, Ice, Baby”, “Ice, Ice, Baby”, and “Ice, Ice, Baby...

Nets-Kings Preview

DeMarcus Cousins is a far different player now from what the New Jersey Nets saw of him as a rookie. The second-year forward is putting together his best stretch of basketball and will try for a career-best sixth straight double-double Saturday night when the Sacramento Kings host the Nets. Cousins was bypassed by New Jersey (18-35) in the 2010 draft, falling to Sacramento (18...

NBA Scores Headlines & Video For March 30

Los Angeles Clippers 98, Portland 97 LOS ANGELES, March 31—I don’t see how the Clippers needed a Chris Paul last second miracle to beat the Trail Blazers but hey…it happens. To check out the rest of the scores and watch video from last night's games, please click the link below.

Enemy Chatter: KG unleashed 34 minutes of hell

I often wonder what opposing teams, their beat reporters and bloggers are saying about the Celtics after playing the Celtics. Here's a dose of 'enemy chatter' from Minnesota. The debate before Friday night's game at Target Center was whether Kevin Garnett in his prime or Kevin Love as a 23-year-old stats monster was the best player in Timberwolves history. ...
