It started in high school.  His games were televised on ESPN.  He made the cover of SI.  He had a nickname that was downright comical it was so over the top.   He was the Chosen One.  The “purists” all wrote him off.  He hasn’t earned anything. Then it got worse.  He skipped college.  He did his stunt with the powder.  We were all witnesses.  He was still the King.  Only Cleveland loved him it seemed. Then it went viral as it often does.  He moved his talents to South Beach.  He left his hometown.  He was universally hated.  He was the hated one.  Everyone’s favorite bad guy. And the King was not Jordan.  No one is Jordan.  No on can be Jordan, and the King doesn’t wag his tongue.  The King is not a shooting guard.  The King is a linebacker not a wide receiver.   He is Karl Malone AND Magic Johnson.   But he doesn’t have any rings.  He is not clutch.  He never was in a dunk contest. But yet what has he done so ruthless?  He is (at least it appears) a role model.  He is intense.  He does laugh, smile and play.  He is a great leader and teammate.  None of that is even in question.  He played on the Olympics and won a Gold Medal.  He had fun doing it. He won a ring.  He IS clutch.  And he is awesome.  A must see circus act like one Michael Jordan.   This is his team, it’s his NBA, it’s his world we live in. And now the win streak.   He now leads Sportscenter and if you watch the games 10 of his plays would be sportscenter’s top 10, just like #23 in his prime.   And you know who loves him the most?  The kids.  Ask any kid their favorite player.  It’s Lebron.  And More Lebron.  The dad will roll his eyes as their kid’s hero is announced.  You can almost hear what they will say.  “Well you know kids, they love guys that can dunk.  I mean seriously, Lebron?” But why?  He is the best player of this generation.  He is incredible and does things that no one, NOT EVEN MICHAEL, did.  He can pass, he can shoot, he can rebound and oh yes, he even defends.   He plays the game the “right way” in every fashion.  He can post up or dribble.  He is not “a punk.” The next time the Heat or Lebron is on, don’t judge.  Don’t blame him for leaving the Cavs (you so sure you would of stayed, right?).   Just watch and appreciate. King James is putting on the greatest show…and you have yet to see and believe.  In a few years he will be gone, now is the time. Don’t miss it.  Be a witness.  – Roste Beefe
