With Dewayne Dedmon and Adonis Thomas both having their second 10-day contracts expiring at 11:59 on Sunday night, the Magic were faced with a decision to either sign them for the remainder of the year or to let them return the free agent pool. Per Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel, the team will retain Dewayne Dedmon for the final 15 games of the season.
The Magic will sign Dewayne...
In a not so surprising move, the Orlando Magic have chosen to not sign contracts with either Dewayne Dedmon and Adonis Thomas for the remainder of the season. Both players were on their second 10-day contracts, which expired at the conclusion of Friday night’s game against the Wizards.
Dewayne Dedmon and Adonis Thomas’ contracts have officially expired and they have not been...
Tobias Harris was named the winner of the Rich and Helen DeVos Community Enrichment Award at the 24th Annual OMYF Black Tie and Tennies Gala on Saturday night. The team gives the award to the player that has dedicated his purpose off the court to enhancing others' lives. Harris certainly falls under that category and the award is well deserved.
The Magic are developing a bad trend, building leads only to give them up and lose. Outsiders would immediately accuse Orlando of tanking. It just seems to be an unfortunate combination of horrible luck and growing pains. However, the Magic found a way to lose another contest where they were ahead. You just wish it didn’t occur on Darrel Armstrong ‘Legends Night’ and the final...
The Orlando Magic will sign rookie center Dewayne Dedmon for the remainder of this season after his second 10-day contract expired at 11:59 Sunday night.
Dedmon gives the Magic another big man — a spot on the roster that thinned out when the team waived Solomon Jones on Jan. 4 and then bought out Glen Davis’ contract on Feb. 21.
Dedmon’s signing is expected to be made official...
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Except for Arron Afflalo and Jameer Nelson, the Orlando Magic are heading down the stretch of this season primarily with a group of players who have spent three or fewer years in the NBA.
That inexperience is going to show against teams such as the Washington Wizards.
The Wizards had to go through what the Magic are enduring now before becoming a playoff contender...
FOXSportsFlorida.com checks in with color analyst Jeff Turner to get the latest on the Orlando Magic.
FOX SPORTS FLORIDA: While it has been only four games, how has Kyle O'Quinn looked to you as a starter at power forward and, conversely, how has Tobias Harris looked coming off the bench?
JEFF TURNER: For Kyle, obviously they threw him in there against San Antonio because that...
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Defensive stops were not a problem for the Orlando Magic against the Washington Wizards until it mattered most.
The Wizards, who struggled on offense for a considerable part of the night, used a run late in the fourth quarter by John Wall to force overtime and pulled out a 105-101 victory.
The Magic led 85-79 with 1:55 to go in regulation after two free throws by...
The Orlando Magic looked like they were going to escape with a home victory on multiple occasions before eventually falling in overtime to the Washington Wizards, 105-101. Orlando fell to 1-5 in overtime games this year.
Leading by five points with 48 seconds left, the Magic would carelessly allow John Wall to go on a 5-0 scoring run to the game with 10 seconds...
Dewayne Dedmon will sign with the Orlando Magic for the remainder of the season.
Dedmon had signed two 10-day contracts with the Magic. He has also appeared in 15 total games with the Philadelphia 76ers and Golden State Warriors this season.
Dedmon has averaged two points and one rebounds in three games for the Magic.
The Magic depart Monday for their final major road trip of the season -- a four-game, six-day trek that will have the Magic visiting Golden State, Utah, Phoenix and Los Angeles (Lakers). After this trip ends, Orlando will have just three road games remaining. That should be a relief for a team that has just four road wins this season -- and needs two more wins to match the franchise...
The Magic have signed Dewayne Dedmon for the rest of the season after his second 10-day contract expired Sunday night. Orlando has not opted to resign Adonis Thomas at this time. His contract was allowed to expire. If the Magic want to sign him, they would have to do so for the rest of the season.
Dedmon has made three appareances for the Magic this season, playing six total...
The Orlando Magic decided they will not sign Adonis Thomas after his second 10-day contract expires on Sunday night.
Thomas has appeared in four games for the Magic since signing on Feb. 25.
