The magic number to clinch the 2nd seed in the East is two games, and what better way to wrap it up than with a win against the team that the Knicks have been battling for playoff position with all season long.
The last time these teams met was a complete disappointment for all of New York. The Pacers thrashed the Knicks 125-91 in a contest that seemed all but over as soon as the ball was tipped-off, but in retrospect, it was nothing more than a bump in the road. The Knicks are a different team now and securing the 2nd seed on their home floor is the perfect way to exact revenge on Indiana.
While winning the game is most important, the Knicks need to be sure that everyone comes out of the game healthy too. It’s unknown whether we will see Tyson Chandler or not, and it seems illogical to let Kenyon Martin see the floor despite him being listed as day-to-day.
