With the San Antonio Spurs up 2-0 in their Western Conference Finals against the Memphis Grizzlies, guard Tony Parker tried to find a place to eat in Memphis last night.
Tony tried to get into the very-popular “Iris Restaurant” but was turned away because the restaurant was completely filled and as you might figure, the Twitterverse started to question why Tony got turned.
The restaurant’s head chef, Kelly English, provided his response to turning away the star guard:
Confirmed MT @memphisacp: Tony Parker tried to eat dinner @restaurantiris and was denied service by @kelly_english. Can you confirm or deny?

We have a thirteen table restaurant. There have been times I couldn’t get my wife or parents in. I can’t create a table, Tony Parker or not.
— Kelly English (@kelly_english) May 25, 2013
That seems like a pretty solid response but I’m not so sure that Zach Randolph or Marc Gasol would have been turned away.

The first two games served as a reminder that the Spurs' offense is a Tony Parker first offense and that when he's aggressive, it's a really good offense. Memphis Grizzlies guard Mike Conley, Jr. said after the game...

The Spurs eventually won in OT, but still, their trolling efforts deserve a valiant round of applause.
