The Trail Blazers are coming off a rare road win, but it was against the weak Wizards’ team and things do not get any easier on this road trip, as after the Pacers they face the Knicks, Bulls, and Thunder. While the Pacers have been a surprise this season and sit in the 5th spot in the East they have lost 4 in a row.

*NBA ATS Matchup Report*

The Pacers are averaging 88.3 ppg and shooting 26.7% from 3-point range in their 4 game losing streak, but all of those losses have come against teams above .500.

The Blazers trail Houston by 1.5 games in the Western Conference and this road trip is an important one. Jamal Crawford and LaMarcus Aldridge combined for 53 points in the win over the Wizards and will be counted on to have good games again.

Aldridge has been playing great averaging 24.7 ppg on 68.2% shooting in his last 3 games.

The Pacers may have to rely on their 9th ranked defense if their offense continues to struggle. However, there may be a good chance Indy’s offense bounces back in this game since the Portland D has given up an average of 103 ppg in their last 3 games.

Portland Trailblazers vs. Indiana Pacers Betting Lines & Handicapping

Pacers’ leading scorer Danny Granger (18.1 ppg) leads the team in scoring and he has averaged 27.7 ppg in his last 6 games against the Blazers. Portland will have to play good all around defense since every starter for the Pacers is averaging in double figures.

The Blazers do not have much of an inside presence and Aldridge and Marcus Camby have to body up on Indy C Roy Hibbert (12.8 ppg 9.3 rpg).

This season the Blazers are 6-14 on the road and the Pacers are 11-5 at home.

Blazers vs. Pacers Handicapping Preview

This season the Blazers are 20-20-1 ATS with an O/U record of 21-20 and the Pacers are 18-21 ATS with an O/U record of 17-20-2.

In some betting trends for this non-conference match up the Blazers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games, 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record, and they have an Over record of 5-1 in their last 6 games.

The Pacers are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games overall, 2-9 ATS in their last 11 home games, and they have an Over record of 3-1-1 in their last 5 games as a favorite.

Pick: The Pacers have dropped 4 in a row and have been a weak ATS team in the last few weeks, but have to go with them to win and cover tonight, as the Blazers simply cannot get it done away from the Rose Garden this season, especially against solid teams.
