Turn Out The Lights, The Party's Over

This could be referred to in the future as Black Wednesday. The day that Elton Brand and Corey Maggette both left as free agents at the same moment. We didn't even get a chance to trade them and get something in return. All we have left is cap space, and few unrestricted free agents who could come in and fill Elton's shoes. They will try to fill Corey's shoes with Al Thorton. They may or may not be able to actually sign Baron Davis to play the point. Right now the Clippers have more questions than answers. The two best power forwards available are Josh Smith and Omeka Okafor. Since they are both restricted, even if we signed them to an offer sheet, we would have to wait and see if their current teams would match the offer. That delay would put the Clipper Nation in an even longer agonizing pain. And they could come up empty handed again. We need another miracle.
