The New York Knicks had a little bit of a scare tonight as their best defensive player, Tyson Chandler was forced to leave Wednesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets with an apparent knee injury. The injury to Chandler occurred when he and Nets forward Gerald Wallace had collided with each other. Right after the collision, Chandler dropped to the ground immediately and began to clutch his knee. It seemed that while Chandler was on the floor he was definitely in a lot of pain. After Chandler was looked at by the Knicks’ trainers, it was announced that Chandler would not return due to the injury and just to play it safe. It was reported later that the injury was not major and the Knicks just want to take the right precautions to make sure that the injury would not get any worse. The injury to Chandler is nothing new to this team as the Knicks have definitely had their fair share of injuries so far in this preseason. Marcus Camby has missed this entire preseason so far with an injured calf muscle. J.R. Smith missed the last four Knicks preseason games with an injury to his Achillies. On top of that, Amare Stoudemire will miss at least the next two weeks as he is trying to heal from a ruptured cyst in his right knee. To conclude the Knicks growing list of injuries, Rasheed Wallace has no timetable for his return to the court as he has been struggling to get ready due to some problems he is having with conditioning. The Knicks will begin the regular season Nov.1 against the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Center. It is imperative that the Knicks get healthy as soon as possible if they expect to contend for any kind of major playoff push. Father time is already against the Knicks as they have the oldest average age of any NBA roster with an average age of 31 years old. Tyson Chandler: Carmelo Anthony Isn’t Going To Shoot Less

Earlier this offseason, Carmelo Anthony made a vow that he was tired of scoring 30 or 40 points on a nightly basis, and now had more of a focus on doing whatever it took to win games. If that took defending and rebounding, and only taking 12  shots, he would do it. This is admirable for anyone who knows Melo’s game. He shoots a lot, but a lot of the time, he is very good at it...
