As of now, the NBA lockout is still in effect, meaning that no acquisitions or player movement can be made and teams will face at least a $1 million fine if coaches or team personnel contact their players.
In other words, the NBA is closed for business.
However, the lockout will eventually come to an end and the Los Angeles Lakers have two gaping needs they need to address.
In addition to lacking some depth at point guard, which was somewhat alleviated with the acquisitions of Andrew Goudelock and Darius Morris, Los Angeles lacks a three point sharpshooter.
This is why I feel Mitch Kupchak and company should pursue Kelenna Azubuike when the lockout ends. Azubuike is an underrated player that has the ability to play both shooting guard and small forward, although his optimal position would be at the two, given his playing style and shooting ability.
Azubuike is a career 40 percent three point shooter, effectively establishing himself as one of the top shooters in the NBA.
