What do you get when you add Thunder's Kevin Durant, Suns' Marcin Gortat, and a clear path to the rim with Durant with the ball? You get quite possibly the dunk-of-the-year by KD. Late in the fourth quarter with OKC up big on the Suns, Durant blows past Michael Beasley en route to the rim with only Gortat in his way. Well, it didn;t take much for KD to elevate and throw one down on the big man for Phoenix. Bonus is how the Suns' bench players are trying to contain their enthusiasm and appreciation of the dunk despite it being one of their own teammates. Also, Kendrick Perkins gives KD a couple of slaps to the head and cheek. Check it out. [follow]

Nike launches KDIsNotNice campaign

Kevin Durant is not nice. At least that is what Nike would like you to believe. Durant has recently come under fire for his actions on the court. Last week, Durant was ejected from a game for the first time in his career after a home loss to Brooklyn. Then, a text message from his grandmother scolded him for his colorful language after the Thunder defeated Phoenix on Monday...

Thunder star Kevin Durant dunks on Marcin Gortat (Video)

Looking for the dunk of Monday night in the National Basketball Assocation? We have it for you here at Outside the Boxscore. It happened during last night's Oklahoma City Thunder/Phoenix Suns game as Thunder star forward Kevin Durant took flight to throw down a nasty dunk on Suns center Marcin Gortat:

Kevin Durant Throws Down Vicious Two-Handed Slam On Nuggets

Kevin Durant is without-a-doubt the NBA’s best young talent, and with highlights like the one he put on the Denver Nuggets Wednesday night, it’s hard to argue any different. During the second quarter of a very lopsided game between KD’s Oklahoma City Thunder and the Denver Nuggets, Durant drove past Kenneth Faried and slammed home a powerful two-handed dunk. Taj Gibson and Kevin Durant have Posterize opponents

Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant is once again in the middle of the MVP race and last night he had a MVP type play. Last night in the Thunder’s 102-90 win over the Suns Durant had a monster jam. Late in the 4th quarter Durant beat Michael Beasley off the dribble and dribbled towards the rim. Marcin Gortat tried to stop Durant but Durant just went over Gortat and dunked on him. Gortat...

POTD 1/14/13: Taj Gibson on Anthony Tolliver

There’s a laundry list of things I like about the dunk that Kevin Durant sent home over the top of Marcin Gortat last night.  First of all, I like that Gortat is seven feet tall, 240 pounds.  That’s a big damn Pole to be smashing on with such authority.  In addition, I like that Durant took off from the dotted line, that he drew enough body contact to warrant a whistle, and...

Durant guides short-handed Thunder past Blazers

PORTLAND, Ore. -- There was no Serge Ibaka, no Thabo Sefolosha in the Oklahoma City Thunder's lineup Sunday night at the Rose Garden. There was way too much Kevin Durant, however, for the Portland Trail Blazers. Durant scored 22 of his 33 points in the second half to lift the Thunder past the Blazers 87-83 Sunday night at the Rose Garden. Oklahoma City (29-8) earned its...

Nuggets-Thunder Preview

When two of the NBA's hottest teams meet Wednesday night in Oklahoma City, one thing seems like a certainty: a lot of points. The Thunder look for their fifth straight win and 10th in 12 games as they face the Denver Nuggets, who put their season-high six-game winning streak on the line. Both clubs rank near the top of the league in scoring with Oklahoma City at 105.1 points...
