It's only the D-League, but still impressive. Shows that Melo has the timing to be a great shot blocker (sort of like Greg Stiemsma). Not every 7 footer has it. For all his greatness, experts have pointed out that KG's timing on blocks has never made him an elite shot blocker. This season KG is tied for only 5th on the Celtics in blocks per 36 minutes. Back to Fab though, he appears to have the timing down. Also appears to be putting on some weight. I hope he doesn't overdue that. I think his athleticism at the 5 spot will be a key for him.

Paul Pierce and the Boston Celtics aren’t very good right now
Celtics fans everywhere keep waiting for the Boston Celtics run, the run that will take them back to the top of the Atlantic Division and into the higher seeds in the Eastern Conference. They did it last year just after the all-star break. It seems as if they should be able to do it this year.
These Boston Celtics, however...
Thumb Injury Could Sideline Boston Celtics’ Chris Wilcox ESPN Boston’s Chris Forsberg tweeted that Doc Rivers said the Boston Celtics are expected to announced that Chris Wilcox will be sidelined with a thumb injury that could keep him out three to four weeks. Forsberg also tweeted that it is a ulnar collateral sprain, and [...]
From a basketball purist point of view, this game was very ugly. No one on the Celtics could hit the broad side of a barn except Paul Pierce. In fairness, some of the shots were missed due to being hacked or bumped and no fouls were called. The Celtics 3 times had leads of 10 points and gave every one up as the result of sloppy and passive play and the inability to hit a shot...

The seemingly center-less Celtics, may be without faux center Chris Wilcox for a month according to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe:
Chris Wilcox, who played some solid minutes off the bench, could miss a

according to coach Doc Rivers. Wilcox injured the thumb in Tuesday's
loss to the Chicago Bulls while...
Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.

Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers said that forward Chris Wilcox will be out three to four weeks with a sprained right thumb. The team announced Monday that they promoted Jarvis Varnado from Sioux Falls of the D-League to take Wilcox's spot on the roster. Varnado appeared in 10 games for the SkyForce and averaged 14.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and a league-best 3.9 blocks in 30...

The last time the Celtics signed a shot-blocking force from the NBA Development League, he turned out to be a big part of their frontcourt rotation.
Jarvis Varnado is no Greg Stiemsma, but it made sense when the Celtics announced Monday that they had signed the 6-foot-9 forward, who played most recently with the Sioux Falls SkyForce in the D-League. Varnado, 24, was a second-round...

The Celtics will sign Jarvis Varnado of the NBA D-League.
The Celtics have signed Jarvis Varnado.
Paul Pierce has 75 points in his last two games. He dropped 40 on the Cavs on Wednesday. You do the math. In a wild evening’s most competitive tilt, Pierce was at his best when his team needed him most. At 35 years old, one of the greatest players in the history of basketball’s most storied franchise continues to age extremely gracefully.
Twelve of Paul’s game-high...
