Los Angeles Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro was justifiably proud of his team and himself on Sunday after his team bucked the odds and defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 82-72 at the Fed Ex Forum to win their first round Playoff series by a 4-3 margin. It was only the second time the Clippers had won a Post Season match-up since they moved to Los Angeles and it was the first time that Del Negro had been victorious in a series as a coach in the Playoffs; having lost his previous two outings when he was bench boss of the Chicago Bulls. A reporter asked Del Negro about his stint as coach of the Bulls when he spoke with the media after the victory. Things did not end well in Chicago for the Clippers coach, as Bulls Team President John Paxson got so upset about his coach’s distribution of minutes, that he accosted him physically late in his second season with the club. The coach would be dismissed after the squad lost their first round match-up against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Paxson ap...

Del Negro: Clippers banged up, but ready to play

It's loud outside of the AT&T Center and music is blasting for what seems like a huge party. That music, however, is for the San Antonio Spurs' fans as the Spurs finally have a game to host after eight days off. The Spurs will be hosting the "Lob City" Los Angeles Clippers, only "Lob City" is more like "we're banged up city" today."...

Brian Scalabrine stars in random commercial as The White Mamba

Brian Scalabrine seems to have taken the mantle from such greats as Mark Madsen and Brian Cardinal as the prototypical goofy, lovable benchwarmer.  As a member of the championship Celtics team of a few years ago, Scalabrine remarkably became one of the most popular players on the team without seeing much action off the pine.  That popularity then followed Scal to the Bulls, where...

When bad news gets worse: Derrick Rose could be out for a year

Derrick Rose is a tremendous asset to the NBA in every single way imaginable. That's my professional way of saying I'm a huge fan of Derrick Rose; the player, the competitor, the leader, and the person. It was as devastating an injury as I can remember when he went down in the first round of these playoffs against the Sixers too. Not just devastating for his Chicago Bulls...
