Another year, another injury for Dwyane Wade. Luckily for the Miami Heat, this one allowed him to finish the year and have offseason surgery. He only missed the 2012 Olympics, which the Heat probably preferred anyways.

For those wondering if Wade’s knee injury would affect the upcoming season, he says it won’t.

"I'm working my way back," Wade said. "We have over a month or so before the first game so I'll be fine. I'm back on the court, back in the weight room getting stronger. It's not my first rodeo, so I know how to deal with certain things."

It’s definitely not his first rodeo. Wade has never played a full 82-game season, so he surely knows how to deal with injury. One of the biggest criticisms about Wade’s career is his inability to stay healthy.

However, Wade usually finds ways to play through injuries when it’s important to his team that he be on the floor. He showed that in last year’s postseason as he played through aches and pains to help the Heat win a championship, their first since picking up LeBron James and Chris Bosh.

Now the focus turns to defending that title. The Heat will need Wade at 100% if they’re going to go back-to-back. The competition has gotten even stronger now that the Los Angeles Lakers have signed Dwight Howard. Luckily for the Heat, they won’t have to go through the Lakers and the defending Western Conference champion Oklahoma City Thunder if they want to repeat.

The future looks bright for the Heat if everyone stays on the floor. Their championship is drawing veterans like Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis to Miami. It seems like they have even more pieces in place than they did last year. So watch out for Miami, they could be on the road to a dynasty.
