Found October 28, 2013 on Project Spurs:
Last season, the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors had an exciting Western Conference Semi-Final series which went six games before the Spurs knocked the young Warriors out of the playoffs. Golden State, however, did test San Antonio thanks to hot-shooting from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson and resiliance after losing big to the Spurs in Game 1. Being tested by the veteran and battle-tested Spurs did wonders for the young Warriors squad according to Curry. Via: Sports Out West: “I’d probably say Game 2 of the second round is probably the moment where we came back from that terrible loss in Game 1 against the Spurs and won on the road. That was a huge win for us. I think that’s a lesson for us to hold on to for this season, playing against a championship-caliber team like them." Versus San Antonio in the Semi-Finals last season, the Warriors came in limping with injnuries to David Lee and Andrew Bogut who was not at full strength. Fast forward to this new season and Golden State is healthy, added Andre Iguodala and the experience gained from playing San Antonio and you have the right mix for a team which could challenge for supremacy in the West.

Golden State Warriors Roster Finalized; Seth Curry Among Cuts

Sadly, the Curry brothers’ NBA reunion will not be happening – at least for now. The Golden State Warriors announced Friday that they had released guard Seth Curry along with center Dewayne Dedmon and forward Joe Alexander to trim the roster to 14. Though a long shot coming in, many Warrior fans had hoped Curry could provide enough of a spark in preseason to lock up the...

David Lee on Warriors: Teams disrespected us

With the 2013-14 NBA regular season tipping off today, the road to revitalizing the Golden State Warriors has not been an easy trek to haul in Oakland, but the pieces of the puzzle have come together nicely. After Golden State failed to make the postseason after winning 36 games during 2010–11, then-head coach Keith Smart was shown the door after the new ownership group of Joe...

San Antonio Spurs Halloween party had some pretty good costumes

I have a sinking suspicion that you didn’t get to attend the San Antonio Spurs Halloween party but thanks to the pictures taken by Marco Belinelli, we have some pictoral proof of the costumes. Check out the two below photos which shows Marco was Super Mario, Manu Ginobili as Buzz Lightyear, Kawhi Leonard as Popeye, Nando De Colo as The Mad Hatter and Tony Parker as a pirate: @manuginobili...

Video: Coach Pop made Tony Parker cry

San Antonio Spurs' Gregg Popovich is a hard-nosed, no-nonsense kind of NBA coach. He tells it like it is and doesn't care if you are the star of the team or the last guy on the bench. Everyone gets equal treatment. Though I suspect this might be a shock to the system for a then 19-year old rookie point guard by the name of Tony Parker. Being the floor leader is tough...

Tony Parker and Matt Bonner went to the Alamo City Comic Con

Decades ago, NBA players wouldn’t be caught dead at comic conventions but these days, it’s almost become the norm to see at least a couple interested in Comic Con’s. Recently, Spurs Tony Parker and Matt Bonner attended the Alamo City Comic Con and below is the picture proof thanks to Reddit user bettercallsaul3. The first is of Tony Parker with Walking Dead actor Stephen Yuen...

Photo: Parker joins 'The Walking Dead' crew

San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker is a pro-athelete, has been a rapper, married an actress and is an icon in France. But having fame, fortune and NBA titles may not be enough for No. 9. Perhaps zombie killing may be next. San Antonio had its first Comic Convention and Parker posed with a few actors of "The Walking Dead" including "Glenn," "Maggie,"...

Splitter: Popovich didn't want me to be a scorer

Before landing with the San Antonio Spurs, Tiago Splitter was "the man" while playing in Europe. Whether it was for his former Spanish team Caja Laboral or with the Brazilian national team, Tiago was the go-to player for those teams and scored at a great clip. However, coming to the Spurs with players who do the heavy scoring (Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker...

Predicting the Spurs player rotation

With the initial games of the 2013-14 NBA season now just hours away, perhaps now is an opportune time to consider which San Antonio Spurs players may have solidified spots in the rotation with their respective camp and preseason performances. Let's start with the virtual "locks" to be starting in the Spurs lineup this season. I'm simply using last year...

A discussion with a Joseph: Kris talks about cousin Cory

AT&T CENTER – A lot can happen in a week’s span. Last Tuesday, when the Orlando Magic visited the San Antonio Spurs, I had a chance to interview Magic forward Kris Joseph. Then, a training camp hopeful for Orlando. Joseph was released from the Magic on Friday (as many teams trimmed their rosters to the league minimum 15 players), but while he was wearing a Magic uniform...

The Three Kings of NBA League Pass

Disclaimer: You’ll notice that the superstars of the NBA (Lebron, Durant, Rose, Harden, etc) have been excluded from this list. There is a reason for that, and its overexposure. Yeah, they are incredibly entertaining to watch, but this list focuses on the newer blood of the NBA. This trio of players have been around the league for a few years but 2013-14 is their coming out party...
