This would pretty much be a no-brainer for the Celtics. New Orleans has told everyone and their mother that they're trying to trade him and have put Kaman on the shelf until they actually do so in order to protect him from injury and, in turn, destroy his trade value. The Hornets want to get younger and build for the future. Kaman, at 30 years old, is apparently ancient and expendable. It would be stupid for the Celtics to try and trade for Kaman because they don't have the young talent that New Orleans would be looking for in return. If the Hornets were unable to find a suitor by the deadline — which is over a month and a half away — then Kaman would most likely be bought out and would become a free agent and the Celtics would absolutely do whatever they could to bring him in. I don't think it gets to that point because there are going to be buyers at the deadline. Then again, we could have another Chris Paul trade fiasco and watch things get nixed...
