Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Since the days of Meadowlark Lemon and “Curly” Neal, the Harlem Globetrotters have been dazzling on the basketball court.

Of course, it helps when your opponent has to concede over a dozen fancy, crowd-pleasing buckets per game.

The 2018 version of the ‘Trotters is a little less-heralded than those from ages past, but you can’t say the roster doesn’t possess truly special skills. Fans at Oracle Arena on Saturday were treated to great hoops played off the court as well as on:

Actually, we doubt Stephen Curry was feeling impressed by trick shots at Oracle on Saturday, since he was busy having a 14-game winning streak snapped by the Rockets at Toyota Center in Houston.

The Globetrotters remain relevant to NBA and NCAA basketball, however. Harlem’s speedy 4-foot-5 sensation Jahmani Swanson boasted in December that the ’18 Globetrotters could beat the New York Knicks. Probably not, Jahmani, but Wilt Chamberlain (currently ranked 19th in popularity on SNIPdaily’s Legends Top 100 ahead of Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali) toured with the Harlem Globetrotters off-and-on for several years.

Let’s just hope current president Howard Smith doesn’t make another boner anytime soon, as the Globetrotters did when drafting rehab-recidivist Johnny Manziel in 2014.
