Everyone knows that North Carolina is one of the leading college athletics states in the union. Make no mistake about it, North Carolinians are well versed in every aspect of the college game. When the two major professional teams were introduced to North Carolina, fan fare was great. It was almost impossible to get a Charlotte Hornets ticket or a Carolina Panthers ticket back in the day.

Now Charlotte’s sports franchises rank among the worst when it comes to fan loyalty, according to a new national survey. New York-based Brand Keys released its 19th sports loyalty survey this week, measuring factors such as entertainment, authenticity, tradition and fan bonding for all of the franchises in the NBA, NFL, NHL and Major League Baseball. In football, the Carolina Panthers ranked last, while the NBA Bobcats were listed among the bottom five.
