LeBron James needs to take a bigger offensive role if Miami wants to win the Finals. (Credit) It’s amazing what one seven-minute stretch can do to your perception of a basketball game. Lost in the utterly ridiculous “Miami has taken control of the Finals” sentiment that Game 2 created was the fact that for the other 41 minutes, the Spurs played the Heat to a standstill. They also won Game 1, and now they’re headed home to San Antonio where they’re 41-6 on the year. The circumstances surrounding Miami’s Game 2 win were entirely unsustainable. The Heat won’t have another six turnover game (season average: 13.3), and they can’t expect many more 16 turnover games from the Spurs (season average: 11.8). They’re not getting another 14-45 performance from Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard, either. In other words, Game 2 turned into the perfect storm for Miami, and it was still a tie game midway through the third quarter. I know the series is tied, and I know that I...

LeBron James denies Tiago Splitter with block for the ages (Video)

Miami Heat superstar LeBron James denied a monster dunk attempt by San Antonio Spurs center Tiago Splitter with a monster block in the fourth quarter of Game 2 of the NBA Finals that may be one of the best blocks you will ever see. Splitter came down the lane and wound up to throw down a one-handed dunk when LeBron went up with one hand and stopped the ball in its tracks. The...

Tony Parker underwent an MRI Wednesday morning on his injured hamstring, and the results are in. Parker posted, in French, on his Facebook page that he has a slight "stretch" in his hamstring. "I just had MRI. Result: I suffer from a slight stretch to the hamstring. We'll see tomorrow how I feel, I really hope to play!" Parker posted, the San Antonio Express...

LeBron James On Game 3: ‘I Played Like Sh*t’

In the Game 3 loss to the Spurs on Tuesday night, LeBron James was held to under 20 points for the third consecutive time after averaging 29 ppg in the Eastern Conference finals against Indiana. On Wednesday, while admitting he ‘played like sh*t,’ he also vowed to be better in Game 4. According to the Miami Herald: “I’ll be better,” James said with a menacing smile. ...

Parker to have MRI on sore hamstring

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker is scheduled to have an MRI on a tight hamstring on Wednesday, leaving his availability for Game 4 of the NBA Finals very much up in the air. Parker was injured early in the second half of Game 3 against Miami on Tuesday night. He tried to play through it, but left the game early in the fourth quarter with the Spurs pulling away to an eventual...

Report: Bobcats Could Try To Trade No. 4 Pick For Chris Bosh

According to Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe, the Bobcats are looking to trade their No. 4 overall draft pick in exchange for an ‘All-Star-caliber player.’ That player could be Chris Bosh, who the Heat are rumored to be looking to trade this summer. The Charlotte Bobcats are looking to make a splash this summer and are open to trading their first-round pick in a package for...

MRI Reveals Slightly Strained Hamstring for Tony Parker

For as much time as the Spurs have spent dominating this series, this could have been a big blow if Tony Parker was required to miss any extended time. MRI says @tonyparker has a strained hamstring with no tear or defect. — Marc J. Spears (@SpearsNBAYahoo) June 12, 2013

Report: Bobcats may potentially deal No. 4 draft pick for Chris Bosh

The Miami Heat and Charlotte Bobcats are rumored to be looking into swapping Chris Bosh for the fourth-overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

LBJ’s blocked shot? BFD.

In Game 2 of the NBA Finals, LeBron James blocked a white guy’s shot and it was somehow enough to blow up the internet universe. Though there’s no question LeBron’s fourth-quarter stuff of Tiago Splitter was an impressive feat of athleticism, the overreaction made me wonder what life would have been like if Twitter existed during the moon landing. Prototypical reaction: OMG...

CC video of the day: Lebron James humiliates Splitter with tremendous block

The Miami Heat got a measure of revenge last night as they defeated the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 104-83. Leading the way for Miami was LeBron James who finished with 17 points, 7 assists, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. One of those 3 blocks came at the expense of Tiago Splitter who foolishly thought attempting a dunk on James would end up in him putting LeBron on a poster. Check...

Thunder need to find another Harden in draft

OKLAHOMA CITY We're only about a week away from talking about James Harden. Again. Seems the Thunder, Harden and his beard will always be connected, and it takes some effort to believe it shouldn't be that way. After all, Harden helped the Thunder to the NBA Finals a season ago, and the general consensus was his absence kept them from making a return trip this year. Oklahoma...

Spurs vs. Heat Game 3 NBA Finals betting odds, spread, start time, info

The San Antonio Spurs face off against the Miami Heat on Tuesday night for Game 3 of the NBA Finals. The series is tied 1-1 as the Spurs head home for the next three games of the series due to the NBA’s, 2-3-2 format. The Spurs comfortably beat the Heat in Game 1, but Game 2 showed a different story when the Heat turned it on and blew the Spurs out scoring 104 points to the Spurs...

Heat turns up on Lebron

Can the Miami Heat come back for a terrible performance again? This seems to be their M.O., but now they’re facing another problem. Something seems to be wrong with Lebron James . . . again. Everyone will try their best to figure out the problem, but it certainly has something to do with the way the San Antonio Spurs are defending him and daring him to shoot. Lebron seems lost...

Aaron is heading over to Fox Sports 1

So as some of you may have or (more likely) may not have noticed, it’s been a tiny bit quiet here at Aaron Torres Sports the last couple weeks. Part of that is by design, and part of that is because I’ve had some pretty darn big things going on behind the scenes. And today, it’s time to tell you about those things, and share with you this: I am happy to announce...
