Over the past few years whenever the position of center is mentioned in the NBA the first name that comes to mind is Dwight Howard. Howard, ever since he came into the NBA in 2004, has been a dominant force and few other players, let alone centers, are able to match his ability and strength down low. Now ever since Howard took over the best center in the league title bringing up the subject of who really is the best center in the NBA seems sort of taboo.
Many people are certain that there is no one even in the same ballpark as Howard and believe that by bringing up the aforementioned discussion you are only disrespecting Howard.
