Originally, I was going to publish a huge NBA Draft preview yesterday that was going to provide very little actual insight while serving up a few dozen jokes about why our favorite teams suck and the rich will get richer. But instead I came down with a cold, so I’m going to settle in tonight and watch the NBA Draft from the comfort of my own couch, with some hot tea and a few vintage issues of Penthouse. So what the hell, let’s have ourselves a live discussion while we’re at it. Will Anthony Davis scream with joy when the New Orleans pick him with the first overall pick that was in no way given to them by a corrupt commissioner? Will Davis trademark my toe hair? Will he run straight out and buy a Bentley like a responsible draft pick? How will the Charlotte Bobcats screw up their pick? By what time will Dwight Howard be a Houston Rocket? Will Royce White overcome his fear of flying to become a millionaire? Join us tonight as we break down the NBA Draft in real time, and share...

Time to trade Howard is now

When the Orlando Magic went out without so much as a whimper during the first round of the NBA playoffs in May, the calls for change in Central Florida rang louder than they ever have before. The current state of things wasn't working, and the increasingly impatient fanbase wanted to see something -- anything -- new: A new coach, a new GM, new players and a new direction. Now...

Portland in the Howard running?

Draft night is getting a close inspection in Orlando. This will be Rob Hennigan's first chance to show Magic fans what the team is going to be about. It is also the time when assets are flying about and those highly coveted, and extremely cheap, draft picks go flying out the door. Many suspect that if the Magic are going to deal Dwight Howard, it might come at Draft night. Houston...

Hennigan said Tuesday that he's spoken to the All-Star center and his agent. Magic don't solve Howard issue, but raise IQ

ORLANDO -- The Orlando Magic didn't solve the Dwight Howard dilemma on NBA Draft night still clinging to hopes he will stay -- but they certainly raised the team's collective IQ level. Newly-hired Rob Hennigan, the youngest general manager in the league, just drafted the smartest player coming into the NBA. Maybe Howard was looking for a tutor. The Magic have done everything...

Dwight Howard Likely to Be Traded According to Oddsmakers

The 2012 NBA draft concludes the basketball season on Thursday night, and while the draft is considered to be the deepest in years, it only has one expected franchise player: Kentucky center Anthony Davis. It’s a foregone conclusion that Davis, the national player of the year last season as a freshman for the champion Wildcats, will go No. 1 overall to the New Orleans Hornets....

Draft-day trades fall through for Rockets

After all the speculation about acquiring a superstar caliber player like Dwight Howard, the Rockets finished the first round of the NBA draft Thursday night with three rookies and no Howard. Whether they actually open the season with the three first rounders they selected is questionable but, for the time being, Jeremy Lamb (12), Royce White (16) and Terrence Jones (18) are members...

The Rockets have moved past their December pursuit of Pau Gasol and are targeting Dwight Howard via trade.

Five potential sleepers in tonight's Draft

By now, everyone knows the NBA Draft is an inexact science. For every Dwight Howard, there is a Kwame Brown. For every Curtis Borchardt, there is an Al Jefferson. And so on and so forth. The point is, there are plenty of players with lots of talent who get passed up for whatever reason -- whether it be potential red flags, concerns about athleticism or not having an "NBA body...
