The Washington Wizards added free agent Eric Maynor on Wednesday and re-signed Garrett Temple for backcourt depth behind John Wall and Bradley Beal.
Maynor played 64 games with Oklahoma City and Portland last season, averaging 4.5 points and 2.8 assists.
''He will bring stability and experience in that role and add leadership and character off the floor,'' Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld said.
Maynor said he was impressed by the Wizards' play with a healthy Wall.
''Just knowing that we got a bunch of young guys, talented,'' he said.
Signed originally by the Wizards on Christmas out of the NBA Developmental League, Temple averaged 5.1 points and 2.3 assists in 51 games last season, including 36 starts.
''His defensive ability, toughness and team-first attitude make him an excellent fit in our system,'' Grunfeld said.
Temple, who spent time with five NBA teams before joining the Wizards, signed a one-year deal for the veteran minimum - the first guaranteed contract for the 27-year-old player.
''It feels good. Definitely not satisfied, though,'' Temple said. ''I think we have a really good chance to make a run for the playoffs this year.''
The Wizards also announced the re-signing of forward Martell Webster.
Maynor, Temple, and Webster all agreed to their deals last week but couldn't sign them until Wednesday under NBA free agency rules.

Earlier today, the Wizards continued their pursuit of culture reformation after securing the deals of newly acquired Eric Maynor, along with the re-signing of Garrett Temple. Martell Webster promised us last night that his contract extension would be signed today as well. The decision to retain Temple and Webster is mere evidence that the Wizards [...]
Just a few days into the 2013 NBA free agency period, the Washington Wizards 2013-14 roster seems like it is pretty much in place. With the signing of Eric Maynor, and the re-signing of Garrett Temple and Martell Webster, Washington’s roster now sits at 14 people and is all but set barring any trades. The following is a very early prediction of the stats of the 2013-14 Washington...

The world of Instagram video has provided us so far with some quality moments from NBA players and the latest comes to us from Washington Wizards forward Martell Webster.
Earlier today, Martell posted the below clip talking about his reaction to his kids coloring pictures and what he really thinks when he sees them:
In case you want to know, Martell has two young daughters by the...

Wizards vs Kings 2013, a set on Flickr. www.csnwashington.com/Wizards – The Wizards came up short..again..against the soon to be Seattle Supersonics (kept the description the same as orginial post since it was a foregone conclusion SacTown basketball was done.) Bradley Beal is still not medically cleared to play more than three months after he was diagnosed with a stress injury in his right fibula.
Beal will not participate on the Washington Wizards' Summer League team, as well as Team USA's minicamp.
“It’s definitely tough, not being able to work out for 12 weeks or whatever it was, and now I’m actually starting to get into...
Carolyn Moos is probably a name you wouldn’t recognize in conversation, but if one were to mention Jason Collins, it might click. She is the former fiancée of the NBA player who recently came-out, and is the first openly gay male athlete in professional sports. She spent eight years in a relationship with Collins, most of them while both student-athletes at Stanford, only to have...
Wizards vs Magic 2013, a set on Flickr. www.csnwashington.com/Wizards – The Wizards hosted the Orlando Magic and came away with their 3rd victory in a row in John Wall’s second game back. Impressive win and here are some of the sights courtesy of my lens featuring John Wall, Nene, Wale, Bradley Beal and the Wizard [...]
When the Wizards selected Glen Rice Jr. in this past NBA draft, most Wizards fans erroneously thought they selected Glenn Robinson III. While they’re both progeny of former NBA players, Robinson III returned to the University of Michigan for his sophomore season. This begs the questions of who is Glen Rice Jr., and why are [...]
Wizards vs Nets 2013, a set on Flickr. www.csnwashington.com/wizards – The Wizards hosted the Brooklyn Nets and despite hanging on to force 2 overtimes the Wizards could not pull it out in the end. Wizards vs Pacers 2013, a set on Flickr. The Washington Wizards took on the Indiana Pacers on Monday night at the phone booth in an attempt to end their 0 for everything streak. Unfortunately despite the inspired play at the end of the game the Wizards came up short. Game featuring Steez, Wale, Bradley Beal, [...]
A return of #98?
Jason Collins played in 32 games for the Celtics last year, starting at center in 7 of them (with minimal success). He averaged 1.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in just over 10 minutes per game before being dealt to Washington at the trade deadline as part of the Jordan Crawford deal. Collins appeared in just 6 contests for the Wizards, and is now an unrestricted...
Washington Wizards forward Martell Webster has an Instagram, and we are fully unsure of what is going on there. We highly recommend that you head over there and check out a few videos. We have hand selected a few for you to experience the weirdness.

We’ve all been kids, and we’ve all colored pictures for our parents and they’ve all said how great the look. This however isn’t the case in the Webster house.
Wizards forward Martell Webster took to Instagram after receiving a picture of what appears to be a bat holding a basket of assorted Halloween items. The bat was multi-colored (blue, yellow, and pink in a tri-fold styling...
