Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump.  The Rolling Stones, “Goodfellas,” a Hershey’s with almonds — the classics are classic for a reason. That definitely applies to the Celtics’ set. No goofy side panels, no extraneous bells or whistles — just a perfect, vertically arched wordmark and a simple green-and-white color scheme. They rank atop this list despite sometimes wearing that black-trimmed alternate. ESPN Being a traditionalist, I was disgusted when the Celtics debuted (2005) the alternate black-trimmed jerseys. But they’ve grown on me, so much so that I would like to see more of the slick black unis. I like the gold-trimmed St. Patrick’s Day jerseys, too. Although, I’m pretty sure I can only deal with those in small doses. They also have the jerseys with the vintage lettering.  The Spurs, Lakers, Warriors and Jazz round out ESPN’s top 5. The Kings and

Areas of Improvement: Jeff Green finding comfort and playing with consistency

This is a series of posts which highlight each key player in the Celtics’ run towards banner 18.  It will highlight the areas of their game they need to improve most for the Celtics to be able to compete with the talent-blitzed teams of 2012-13.  The area will sometimes be a player’s biggest flaw, or sometimes his biggest strength, but each post will highlight what this Celtics...

How good will Jeff Green be?

Mr. Jeff Green just signed a pretty nice contract, reportedly four years for around $36 million. That's a lot of money, especially for someone who will be the seventh man (sixth man, that's Jason Terry's job). Still, you'd expect that Green is going to get some significant playing time relieving both Paul Piece and Brandon Bass next season and beyond. Why else...

Celtics rookie Fab Melo breaks folding chair...by sitting on it (Video)

Boston Celtics rookie center Fab Melo was sitting down on a folding chair with some other NBA rookies during a recent photo shoot when it suddenly collapsed without warning. It appeared that the legs just gave way and couldn't support Melo's 7-foot, 255 pound frame, and cameras were perfectly positioned to capture the moment as it happened. Melo was OK, aside from...

Paul Pierce AF1

Japanese designer “Layupshot” has put together a Nike Bespoke Air Force One “Paul Pierce” tribute shoe. Bespoke, the offspring of 21 Mercer, the NYC Nikestore, offers designers the chance to customize AF1′s. Layupshot has customized this particular pair in green and white, with a cork midsole to give it that “hardwood” look. It also features Paul’s “34” and “21m”...

The Celtics quiet but effective offseason

via Celticslife The offseason was reminiscent of a storm brewing off a shoreline, that shoreline being the Boston harbor. Danny Ainge was able to collect pieces that will have the Boston Celtics in a better position than last year. This is remarkable considering last year’s team lost to the Miami Heat in seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals. Without diving into...

The Nike Fun Police

I was looking around on YouTube and came across this series of commercials with Kevin Garnett that are fun. I don't really remember them being on TV but then again, I may have been getting a snack at the time. His Anta shoes may be cool,  but they don't have fun commercials like this.  Anyway, I thought I'd share a few of them to pass the time as I anxiously await...

Celtics Sign Green To $36 M Extension

The Boston Celtics may have lost one of their most important pieces this offseason when Ray Allen opted to sign with the Miami Heat but the team did retain a key component with the re-signing of Jeff Green. The Celtics made the announcement this week by extending him for four years at $36 million. The Celtics first acquired Green from the Oklahoma City Thunder in return for Kendrick...

GreenLight Madness: #10 Seed vs #23 Seed

The Celtics had a memorable 7 game series with the Miami Heat, a series they unfortunately lost.  Throughout the series there were several moments that stand out, although they would shine much brighter in Celtic lore had they pulled off the series upset.  Rajon Rondo had quite a few of these plays, even excluding his masterpiece 44-point performance in Game 2, a loss.  During...

A comparison between the 2007-08 championship roster against our upcoming season roster (Guest Post)

Guest post by Ronit Ale First is Ray Allen vs Courtney Lee. For me on this subject, I will have to pick Courtney Lee over Ray Allen. Not because Ray was bad or anything(in fact I am a fan of Ray whether he's a Heat or Celtic for that matter), its just that Courtney has youth even at that time where Ray was just hitting game winners and 3's. Although Lee is a lot better...
