Expectedly, there's a new deal being worked out between the powers-that-be at the New Jersey Nets and the Dallas Mavericks to send Jason Kidd to Texas. The current deal will leave out veto-empowered Devean George, and blabber-mouthed Jerry Stackhouse. The expected plan has Jason Kidd and Malik Allen going to Dallas for Devin Harris, Desagna Diop, Maurice Ager, retired Keith Van Horn and Trenton Hassell. New Jersey will also get a cool $3 million and two first round draft picks.

  • I just dont see how he helps them compete in the west, when they're trading their best big man. Diop is better than Dampier They got smaller when other teams in the west got bigger, how is Kidd helping the compete with Shaq and the Suns, Duncan, and Bynum and Gasol?
  • Apparently they think by adding Jason Kidd, it will make Dirk better? Dirk's a soft touch shooter. He's never been one to finish near the rim. And I don't think Jason Kidd is going to change that. When I first heard about the original trade, I thought it was bad. This one's not any better.

  • Kidd is getting old, and he doesn't have a lot of years left as one of the top PG's in the NBA. Devin Harris might become CLOSE to being at his level eventually, and they might be missing another future Kidd by giving up the draft picks. But hey, I hate the Mavs, so what do I care?
  • Dallas is giving up a lot, but every team that has traded for Jason Kidd has been better after he got there. This will be no different.
  • Big statement to make with Kidd at this stage of his career...
  • Well, I think that the move could be beneficial. We'll see the outcome IF Kidd is actually traded.
