The Mavericks were informed before Tuesday’s deadline that swingman Devean George has exercised his player option for the 2009-10 season, his agent said.

The agent for Devean George said this morning that the 6-8 swingman has exercised his player option to remain with the Mavericks for next season.
That means George will be under contract for 2009-10 for $1.6 million.
That doesn't necessarily mean he will be on the roster come...

It's silly that Devean George, who averages 3.6 ppg, has a no-trade clause. But don't blame him....blame the system.
And furthermore.......you sure as hell wouldn't accept a trade to North Jersey, either.
