Michael Olowokandi Had No Use for Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Advice
In an editorial piece for ESPN, Kareem takes the immortal Kandi Man to task for refusing to listen to him (and others) back in the day, and blames that sort of attitude for Olowokandi’s disappoiting career: “Many teams are spending too much money on marginal talent. Most of the owners would tell you they have no problem paying the star-caliber players at the present rates...

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is still angry at Michael Olowokandi
12 and a half years ago, the Los Angeles Clippers hired Hall of Fame center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to aid in their development of then-rookie Michael Olowokandi. 'Kandi had gone from relative unknown to the top pick in the 1998 draft in just a few months the year prior, but because the NBA locked out its players right after that draft he lost crucial development time, and fell out...

Barstool Debate: Who is the worst #1 pick in the NBA's modern era?
As long as there have been barstools, there have been men sitting on those barstools arguing about sports. This week, John Paulsen and Anthony Stalter debate the worst #1 pick in the NBA's modern era. Is it the Wizards' pick of Kwame Brown or the Clippers' pick of Michael Olowokandi? They're both bad, but which is the worst?

ODENwokandi? OlowODEN? The Similarites Are Scary.
Unreasonable expectations usually lead to big disappointments. Will Greg Oden be another noted failed number one pick? There are a lot of similarities to their situations. Same height, similar nicknames, etc. But most importantly, both were labeled by the media as being the next big thing. We think that's a little unfair.
