Vin Baker sues firm for losing almost all of his 86 million dollar fortune
Sometimes I struggle about whether to post stuff like this..I wonder…who cares? Is this relevant?
Well dammit it was relevant to me! This hurt. I remember the glory days with he and Gary Payton..they were two players that made up my childhood obsession with basketball. Baker played so well…AT FIRST…that I forgave him for replacing Shawn Kemp (I was an emotional teen).
86 million...

According to Vinnie
I actually have never heard anybody say that Vin Baker is a bad guy. I feel sorry for him more than I feel angry at him.
http://www.courthousenews.com/2012/01/25/43319.htm
That said this is pretty comical. Lets be clear: If somebody promises to deliver good results, they get paid for the results, and then deliver poorly then they can be sued for misrepresentation. My favorite...

Flashback Fun: Derek Anderson posterizes Vin Baker
OK so the NBA lockout is going to last a "tad" longer and may axe the entire 2011-2012 NBA season but that doesn't mean we can't take a stroll down San Antonio Spurs memory lane.
Case in point, former Spurs guard Derek Anderson crushing former Seattle Supersonic Vin Baker on his way to the rim during his first season in San Antonio.
Check out this March 2001 video...

What the Hell Happened to...Vin Baker?
He was on a path for the Hall of Fame. I was fortunate enough to watch all of Vin Baker's career. I saw the dexterity he had down low. The ability to face-up and shoot or put the ball on the floor. The quick first leap that made him a monster on the offensive glass. The ability to block a shot from the weak-side. The post up game that demanded a double-team. The wide...

Memory Lane Monday: Vin Baker
One of the more tragic careers in the NBA, Vin Baker’s alcoholism led to a career of unfulfilled potential. Baker, who graduated from Old Saybrook Senior HS and played his college ball at Hartford, had a 14 -year career that included stops in Milwaukee, Seattle, Boston, New York, Houston, and Los Angeles (Clippers). He was an All-Star for four consecutive seasons from 1995-1998...

Nothing fails like success
Vin Baker is one of those stories. He was an All-Star making $13 million a year, but now he's talking about alcoholism, financial disaster and how tough life is.
How does this happen? And why is this story so common?
Baker was on the Stan Simpson show, which airs on Fox 61 in Connecticut, and Simpson asked Baker what went wrong.
Baker's answer: "When I got to the...

Time Out! : C-Webb’s Eatery Goes The Way Of Vin Baker’s Saybrook Fish House
Normal service will return to CSTB shortly — you’d be surprised how many people get upset when I try to drive a school bus and blog at the same time. But for now, here’s an unhappy item from the Sacramento Bee’s Bill Lindelof that serves as a reminder the restaurant business can be even tougher [...]

Where you been, Vin?
As if Pete's story about Tom Chambers' "****" problems weren't weird enough, Jessica from Greenstreet writes about yet another failed Vin Baker comeback:
It has been five years since the Vin Baker saga ended in Boston. Now the 37-year-old is trying to restart his basketball career in South America. According to several reports, Baker has signed with the Marinos...

Old Big Men Who Blew It, Yet Still Want To Play
Old friend Vin Baker is still playing professional basketball, I think. According to Marca.com, he's signed with Marinos de Anzoategui of Puerto Rico. I wish I could share more details but I can't read Spanish.I'm guessing Baker is doing this for money and not for the love of the game. His $2.5 million dollar home was foreclosed on last year.Another waste of talent, Oliver...
