Wolves To Sign Greg Smith To 10-Day Contract

The Minnesota Timberwolves will sign Greg Smith to a 10-day contract. Smith has been playing for Raptors 905 and has averaged 17.4 points and 11.8 rebounds on 46 percent shooting from the floor over his past five games. Smith has previously been in the NBA with the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks.

Dallas Mavericks backup big man Greg Smith never received much playing time last season. Smith only appeared in 42 games, and averaged just 8.6 minutes a contest.  Smith, 24, will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Greg Smith Clears Waivers

Greg Smith has cleared waivers after being released this week by the Houston Rockets. Smith was waived in order for the Rockets to sign Dexter Pittman. Smith averaged 3.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in 9.1 minutes in 11 appearances with the Rockets.

Rockets Sign Dexter Pittman, Release Greg Smith

The Houston Rockets agreed to sign Dexter Pittman while waiving Greg Smith. Smith has missed most of the season due to a knee injury. Pittman, who went to training camp with the Chicago Bulls and later signed a 10-day contract with the Atlanta Hawks, has averaged 11.3 points and 6.8 rebounds with the Austin Toros of the NBA D-League.
