The Chicago Bulls signed Lou Amundson, Ronnie Brewer and Mike James late in the season in what was perceived by many in the NBA as a signal of a possible trade this offseason.
The combined, non-guaranteed salary of those three players for next season gives the Bulls $4.07 million that could be used as a trade chip for a player like Carmelo Anthony.
The New York Knicks are considered...
Mike James will sign with the Chicago Bulls for the remainder of the season and will be eligible for the playoffs.
James' 10-day contract with the Bulls expired in January.
James will provide insurance if Kirk Hinrich and D.J. Augustin.
The Chicago Bulls have re-signed Mike James.
James was added due to the expectation Kirk Hinrich will be out for an extended period with a hamstring injury.
Mike James played 13 minutes in the Chicago Bulls' loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday and has surpassed Marquis Teague at backup point guard for now.
Tom Thibodeau said Kirk Hinrich will start and James will be his backup at this point.
Teague did not play on Friday.
Teague was reportedly shopped by the Bulls early in the season.
