New York Jets All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL, head coach Rex Ryan tells NFL.com.
Ryan met with reporters Monday and confirmed what most New Yorkers had feared.
“Obviously that’s a significant injury and it’s something that we’re going to have to overcome as a football team, we understand that,” Ryan said. “He’s such a great player and a great teammate — we’re going to lose that presence. That’s the horrible thing that came out of the game.”
The Jets will now rely on veteran Antonio Cromartie to cover the opposing team’s best wide receiver. Along with that, third-year pro Kyle Wilson must step up and show why he was a first-round pick.
