According to a tweet by Boston.com's Shalise Manza Young, former Indianapolis Colts tight end Dallas Clark visited with the New England Patriots last Tuesday.

It's pretty questionable by the Patriots for doing this, considering the fact that they already have good tight ends on their roster with Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. What's the need for Clark?

However, Pro Football Talk makes an interesting case of why New England may be interested in the former Pro Bowler:

On Monday, Peter King of SI.com characterized the Chiefs as the clubhouse leaders for Clark’s services.  It could be that Chiefs G.M. Scott Pioli’s former boss, Bill Belichick, simply decided that, if Pioli sees something in Clark, maybe there’s something there that could help the Pats.

Clark has been injury-filled for the past two seasons ever since his Pro Bowl year in 2009 when he had 100 catches for over 1,000 yards along with 10 touchdowns. He hasn't been the same since.

With that, the Patriots could use him as a good, serviceable back-up. This also means he will join another former Colt in running back, Joseph Addai.

What do you think? Should the Pats sign him? Will they?

Five players that can help Wes Welker with his contract dispute.

Everything that Wes Welker says and does lately seems to be the wrong thing. Before he makes another move, he needs to make some phone calls to these five guys that have come out on the other side of a contract dispute with the Patriots. New England Patriots work out another tight end

The Boston Globe reported yesterday that the New England Patriots held a workout for veteran tight end Dallas Clark on Friday. A team filled with receiving options and three highly qualified tight ends, I imagine this was nothing more than a virtual tire kicking workout so the Patriots could determine where he was physically in case the need to fill a roster position because of injury...

Things are beginning to get ugly between Wes Welker and the Patriots

One would’ve never thought the day would come that Wes Welker’s relationship with the Patriots was so strained that he could possibly be on his way out of New England. Yes, there are contract issues, but that’s pretty normal in the world of professional sports. The athlete thinks he’s worth one thing and the team thinks he’s worth another. That’s just the way it works...

‘Call Me Brady’ Is The Perfect Troll Brady Summer Jam

Now that Tom Brady has a fun new ‘do just in time for summer, all we have to do to now is find the perfect breezy pop song to blast with the top down on the way to the local tiki bar. O HAI, what have we here? A cover of Carly Rae Jepsen’s soon-to-be-if-not-already ubiquitous pop hit “Call Me Maybe” with lyrics refashioned for Dreamboat and sung into a webcam with dramatic...

Robert Kraft to Accept Degree in Honor of Myra Kraft at Brandeis University

Myra Kraft was by all accounts an exceptional woman, and there's no shortage of people who have looked to honor her since her death last July. Brandeis University will join that group on Sunday, awarding an honorary degree to Kraft, a 1964 graduate of the school, ESPN reports. Patriots owner Robert Kraft will accept the degree in honor of his wife during commencement ceremonies...

Seau's death hit home for ex-Patriot Ted Johnson

Former New England Patriots linebacker Ted Johnson says the death of Junior Seau was ''the tip of the tipping point'' that convinced him to speak out for concussion victims. Seau shot himself in the chest this month. Although there has been no link established between possible head injuries and his death, Johnson says he's convinced it is at least part of what...

New England Patriots Fantasy Football Projections

QB Tom Brady (New England) Tom Brady threw for 5235 yards last year on the strength of 611 passing attempts, but he’s only twice gone over 580 attempts in a season and the Patriots should have a better defense next year. I also think his 8.5 YPA from last year is unsustainable as he’s only gone over 8 twice in his career. The other time he did that was 2007, when Josh McDaniels...

Rob Gronkowski Flashes The Tongue for Female Fan

Dallas Clark visited the Patriots

Getty Images According to Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe, former Indianapolis Colts tight end Dallas Clark visited the New England Patriots on Tuesday. Clark recently visited the Kansas City Chiefs as well.  Some people question whether or not he can still play after fighting through multiple injuries over the past few seasons. If Clark signs with the Patriots, he’d certainly...

Patriots WR Wes Welker Says Contract Talks Are Getting Worse

Wes Welker recently signed his one-year franchise tender and that would seem to indicate that the relationship between the New England Patriots and Welker is improving, but that's not the case. Welker is further away than ever from a long-term deal. "There have been talks, but nothing that's brightened anything at all," Welker told Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald...

Patriots WR Wes Welker And Willie McGinest Make Peace

On Saturday, ATL's Marc Sessler wrote how franchised New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker had shifted into "good soldier mode" last week, signing his $9.515 million tender, backtracking from comments he made about contract talks with the Patriots and stating his intention to report for the start of OTAs on Monday. Welker had also spared with former Patriots...

Patriots WR Wes Welker Backtracks From Contract Talks

Wes Welker has shifted into good-soldier mode, telling reporters he will report for organized team activities with the New England Patriots on Monday. The wide receiver met with the media on Saturday at his football clinic in Peabody, Mass., and it didn't take long for questions about his contract to bubble up. Welker said he regretted describing contract dealings with the team...

OCHOGRAFIA! CHAD GOES MAD AS SOUTH BEACH PHOTOGRAPHER!!

OCNN: Chad Ochocinco sets out on another picture-taking adventure on South Beach. Apparently CHAD OCHOCINCO has a penchant for taking pictures. Mostly of himself, of course. Lately, the Patriots wideout has been on a picture-taking binge down in his native Miami, Florida just looking for interesting subjects to shoot… Chad got in a glossy shot with fellow NFL wideout Torrey...
