Back in the day, we probably wouldn’t have heard anything about this.

San Francisco 49ers Linebacker Patrick Willis and Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis may be friends off the field but they certainly will be enemies on the field come Sunday, Feb. 3 for Super Bowl XLVII.

Technically, the San Francisco 49ers are the home team in Super Bowl XLVII, and as grand arrivals go, their landing in New Orleans on an unseasonably warm Sunday evening was rather calm and unassuming. Players casually walked off the team plane dressed in casual attire, minus handheld video recorders recording the moment. Nobody waved to the crowd. They offered no real hint of the...
According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com via Evan Silva, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Randy Moss is expected to play one more season.
“I’m told that Moss expects to play at least one more season,” said Florio.
49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh has already said that he wants Moss to come back next season, but let’s be honest, Moss didn’t make much of an impact this...
Alex Smith's days as the San Francisco 49ers' starting quarterback are over. His time on the team's roster might be ending soon, too. Thanks to Vernon Davis former Niners head coach Mike Singletary has the one of the great NFL rants of all time after sending Davis to the showers early during a regular season game.

So now we fast-forward to 2013. Moss is scheduled for unrestricted free agency and Pro Football Talk is reporting he'd like to play again.
The Patriots' equivalent to Moss in terms of No. 3 role this past season was Deion Branch, who played almost the same percentage of snaps as Moss. He is also a free agent (key stats: 16 catches, 145 yards, 0 TDs).
Ray Lewis will be doing his final dance next Sunday at the Super Bowl in New Orleans. But there are some places I don’t think he should be visiting.

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick will start Super Bowl XLVII next Sunday.
With just seven days remaining until Super Bowl XLVII, I thought I’d take some time to reflect. The 2012 NFL season has been the breakthrough year for the “Read-Option” offense.
It began in 2010 with Tim Tebow when he was a Denver Bronco. It continued in 2011 with Cam Newton of the Carolina...
