San Francisco 49ers wide receiver A.J. Jenkins is very grateful for the veterans around him that are helping him transition to the NFL.
“Yeah, I feel I like I have the perfect fit,” Jenkins said Thursday after a two-hour practice. “With those kinds of veterans guiding me through the way, I’m trying to learn things, trying to be a veteran.
“That’s perfect. I got (Michael) Crabtree,(Randy) Moss, Jerry Rice and (Mario) Manningham. Even Brandon Jacobs is talking to me a lot, (and) Alex Smith is talking to me a lot. I have a lot of great experience around me.”
Even though Jenkins was drafted in the first round, he doesn’t have a lot of pressure to come in right away and be a playmaker because the 49ers already have guys like Moss, Manningham and Crabtree.

Alex Boone is the favorite to start at right guard for 49ers
The 49ers won 13 games last year in the regular season, but still had one of the worst offensive lines in the league. Alex Smith was sacked more times than any single quarterback last year. This offseason, they lost starter Adam Snyder at right guard and have yet to find a true replacement for him. Snyder played poorly last season, so he probably won’t be missed, but the 49ers...

Patrick Willis backs Alex Smith
San Francisco linebacker Patrick Willis backed Alex Smith on Twitter after Smith was blasted by Jon Beason for taking shots at Cam Newton.
49ers no longer considering moving Anthony Davis to guard
After losing Adam Snyder in free agency, the 49ers all of a sudden had a huge hole at right guard. There was speculation earlier this offseason that right tackle Anthony Davis could move to right guard. The organization is very high on former undrafted free agent Alex Boone, a natural tackle, and Davis has struggled in pass protection in 2 years with the team and might be a better...
49ers impressed with Moss' early impact
Randy Moss' slow descendent into his brief retirement began after the Patriots' opening-day win over the Bengals in 2010. That's when Moss declared that he wasn't appreciated in New England; he also said there were people who didn't want him to succeed there. Shortly afterward, Moss was traded to the Vikings where he fizzled. After that was his short stay in...
Alex Smith takes a subtle jab at Cam Newton’s rookie stats
After being drafted first overall by the 49ers in 2005, it appeared as if QB Alex Smith was on his way to joining a long list of first round busts. Luckily for Smith (and Niners fans), he has turned around his career and found success under head coach Jim Harbaugh. Smith’s overall statistics still may not [...]
Alex Smith Loves His New Toys
When asked to describe what he thought of his new receivers, San Francisco 49ers QB Alex Smith said, “It’s like waking up on Christmas…” With a team that’s packed full of talent at the running back and tight end positions, the only thing that may have held them back from grabbing their first Super Bowl trophy since 1995 was a talented wide receiver on the other side of...
Michael Crabtree impressing at 49ers OTAs
When last we saw the San Francisco 49ers, they were losing to the New York Giants in the NFC Championship. Kyle Williams was the scapegoat in that game because he fumbled two punt returns, that led directly to 10 points by the Giants, including the game winning field goal. However, 49ers wide receivers caught just 1 pass for 3 yards all game, which had to have cost the 49ers at least...

Randy Moss still has the speed, according to the 49ers coach, and was a favorite target during Wednesday’s practice. Plus, the Packers added a former first-round pick, the Bears have an important player with an uncertain future, and players could opt for fines over extra pads.
Panthers Jon Beason rips 49ers Alex Smith
The San Francisco 49ers went 13-3 last year despite their QB finishing dead last in the NFC in passing yards per game. In defending his game managerial type statistics in a recent interview, Niners quarterback Alex Smith slammed Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton‘s statistics. Newton’s teammate Jon Beason, returned fire on Twitter yesterday.
But first, here’s what the...
Panthers LB Jon Beason Cracks Back At 49ers QB Alex Smith For Cam Newton Comment
49ers quarterback Alex Smith made some comments about Cam Newton that Panthers linebacker Jon Beason didn't appreciate. "This is the honest truth: I could absolutely care less on yards per game," Smith said Wednesday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "I think that's a totally overblown stat. Because if you're losing games in the second half, guess...
Alex Smith Thinks Stats Are for Losers, Throws Subtle Shots at Cam Newton and Drew Brees
I understand what he is saying, but………..
I will explain why he is theory is flawed after you read his quotes.
When asked before the 49ers’ divisional playoff win over the New Orleans Saints if he might someday throw for more yards in a season than Drew Brees, or some of the NFL’s other more high-octane quarterbacks, Smith was quite defiant.
“I really don’t care...

Patrick Willis, San Franciscon 49ers
A recent ranking of linebackers by an NFL analyst motivated me to create my own top five. We will be taking a look at just every position and ranking the top five in the NFL. For today though, lets take a look at the linebackers.
