San Francisco kicker David Akers has set the NFL record for most field goals in one season with his 41st.
Akers made a 44-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter on Saturday against Seattle. It was his third made field goal of the game after earlier connecting from 53 and 29 yards.

Akers, who earlier in the game connected from 53 and 29 yards out, split the uprights from 44 yards out to set the record in the fourth quarter.
