Rookie running back Jewel Hampton, who underwent offseason foot surgery, will return to 49ers practice on Tuesday, the team said.
Meanwhile, rookie outside linebacker Darius Fleming, a fifth-round draft pick, will remain on the physically-unable-to-perform list for the remainder of the season. Fleming sustained a torn ACL in his left knee in one of the opening drills of the 49ers' rookie minicamp in May.
Hampton has been on the reserve/non-football injury list after undergoing offseason surgery to remove bone spurs in his left foot. If the 49ers do not activate him after a three-week window, beginning Tuesday, he would finish the season on the NFI list. Source: Comcast Sports Attached Thumbnails
