The San Francisco 49ers have signed wide receiver Austin Collie. Known for big plays and concussions the 27-year-old Collie would be a upgrade for an injury depleted 49ers core of receivers.
Collie appeared in just one game last season before rupturing his right patellar tendon.
Prior to signing with the 49ers, Collie worked out for the Patriots, Jets and Dolphins.
In Collie’s first two seasons in the NFL he caught a combined 15 touchdowns. He caught 54 or more passes in each of his first three seasons.

Lynch adds that Wright would need to pass physical to sign with the team.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that 49ers ILB Patrick Willis has been diagnosed with a slight fracture in his right hand.
Mortensen adds that the team will to proceed with caution and that Willis is expected to be ready for the start of season.
Willis was injured during Wednesday’s practice after he collided with FB Britt Miller during a blitz pickup drill.
