San Francisco 49ers tight end Delanie Walker says that his aunt and uncle were killed in a fiery crash just hours after the Super Bowl. A spokeswoman for Louisiana State Police says two people were killed about 5 a.m. on Monday in a crash on Interstate 10 in LaPlace, just west of New Orleans. Walker says in a Twitter posting that his aunt and uncle, Alice and Bryan Young, died in a crash with a drunken driver around the same time. Trooper Melissa Matey says the vehicle was stopped on the road shoulder when it was struck by a car driven by 26-year-old Nechole T. Thomas of Houston. The badly burned victims have not yet been identified by police. Thomas was jailed on vehicular homicide, drunken driving and other charges. Online jail records do not indicate whether she has an attorney.
