Since 1996, at least five football teams that missed the NFL playoffs the year before made the playoffs the following season. Ironically, that was the start of the free agency and salary cap era as parity came to the NFL. I will go through the five teams that missed the playoffs last year that will make it this season. 1. Philadelphia Eagles The Eagles were supposed to be the “Dream Team” last year after the additions of Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. But that dream soon turned into a nightmare as they started a disappointing 4-8 and missed the playoffs with a record of 8-8. Injuries, turnovers, and a lack of concentration cost this team a possible playoff berth. Michael Vick missed three starts and the Eagles went 1-2 in his absence. Vick looked amazing at times last year, but struggled at times with turnovers.
