We here at NYsportSpace (i.e. my Cat and I) appreciate Darrelle Revis and the impact he's had on the Jets success since he was drafted in 2007.

Our favorite Jets Beat Writer Manish penned a fantastic journalistic piece (Revis Pieces?) over at the Daily News. It contains a plethora of insightful nuggets that when dipped in proverbial honey mustard, is just deliciously delightful. I've extracted my 5 favorite Stats, a fact, and the best quote from the article for the handful of folks who visit NYSS with the hope that someone actually posted something. I'll also include the Top 5 best condiments for Chicken Nuggets as a BONUS.

5 STATS  - This ish CRAY!

  1. Revis has given up a touchdown on only 2.5% of the passes thrown at him over the past three seasons.
  2. Revis owns the league's lowest burn percentage in the past two seasons. (Burn Percentage definition)
  3. Quarterbacks have completed only 36.5 percent of their passes thrown at Revis.
  4. Revis has the highest percentage of pass deflections (25.3) during that stretch.
  5. Opposing quarterbacks have had passer ratings of 59.8, 29.1 and 77.4 against Revis in 3 seasons.

FACT - Revis didn't prepare for Dex Bryant AT ALL prior to shutting him down in Week 1

Revis spent countless hours in the run-up to the season opener studying tape of Cowboys wideout Miles Austin. He didn't look at one film cut-up of Dez Bryant. But Thurman flipped Revis and Antonio Cromartie's assignments midway through the first quarter after Bryant's white-hot start.

"I didn't study him," Revis said. "So, you got to adjust on the fly."

Revis initially leaned on techniques that he used on Terrell Owens, who has a similar body type as the 6-2, 218-pound Bryant, before filling in the blanks as the game unfolded to hold the Cowboys' receiver, who was also bothered by a bruised quad, without a catch for the remaining 3 1/2 quarters.

QUOTE - Is Revis better than Deion? YES.

"Is he better than Deion?" Michael Irvin said. "There were times I was on the field and Deion was on the field and we were not going up against each other. Sometimes he got on the lesser man and they doubled the greater man. It kind of gave Deion a break. I've watched Darrelle Revis. A Michael Irvin would not be on the football field without Darrelle Revis covering him. … Darrelle Revis is the best. Don't fool yourself."

I enjoy telling people that #24 is the best Cornerback of all time. They always give me that flat tire "yeah, right" reaction and I say "**** your flat tire!" Like real mean and ****. The we either engage in fisticuffs OR I explain that I am simply forecasting what I believe to be a true fact after Revis' career eventually winds down and you can compare his lifetime stats and achievements to other all-timers.

So there are your stats, facts and quotes. Make sure you follow The Jets Stream on Twitter and of course, NYsportSpace. If you like real emo and homerrific tweets about the Jets and Giants, check us out on gameday. Let me put it this way, NOT following me is akin to eating chicken nuggets without any dipping sauce ZOMG WHICH REMINDS ME!
