Bitch-a-more

Getting away from the fact that Baltimore v New England last night was one hell of a football game, with all the drama one would expect in prime time... Baltimore sure whines a lot for a team that acts so tough.

I've never seen an entire D, talk so much trash and peacock about so much AFTER getting burned for a TD. I understand that it may have been a strategy to try and bully and intimidate NE, but really... are you going to intimidate the core of the Patriots? Brady? Belichick? Moss? The O-Line? I think they've played in some big games before... in January.

And what was all the hate for Wes Welker? Sure, he's a hell of a football player, a sparkplug and a competitor... but did he spend the pregame stretching time making prison jokes to Ray Lewis? The Ravens D was in his face from the opening whistle. Then all the pointless penalties, Bart Scott melting down (more in a second), then all the whining. Landry acted like a pouty brat.

And Samari Rolle didn't like being called "boy". Then don't act like one. Act like a man... the Ravens seemed like they were readying their excuses before the game was over.

Bart Scott... pro-bowler... a force of nature... loses his mind. He'll probably be suspended, and maybe it won't matter to the Ravens' season at this point, but come on! He was lucky to not be ejected (or maybe he was, it was never clear) but the NFL needs to take the nod from MLB and start ejecting more players and coaches. There is nothing more exciting than some manager or player getting tossed from a baseball game. But in the NFL they are rare to pull the trigger. I say do it! It will only add excitement and eliminate some of the "thug element" the NFL claims it does not want. If a player gets tossed for obvious and over-the-top unsportsmanlike conduct, it will calm down.

What sucks is that the Baltimore D's whining outshined a fantastic game by Boller, McGahee and the rest of the offense. They played great, definitely good enough to win. The O-line DOMINATED the Pats and McGahee ran like a man possessed... I had to replay many of his runs because I couldn't see how he found space. He broke tackles, and on one run almost broke Junior Seau's ankles and will. Boller made a serious claim to the starting job.

But no one will remember that... they will remember the D melting down and bitching. It's too bad.

what i don't like is when the patriots whine nobody talks about it. i don't like the ravens but i have to say that they were ripped off last night, like rolle said. there were some very questionable calls on the pats final drive (like that holding on the 4th down and the TD catch that was bobbled). i don't really like it when people talk about the refs ripping a team off but the ravens have a good case from last night.

Actually the fact of the matter is that the Ravens screwed themselves. Even the players admit it, that call for timeout by the coach?? Boller made a great pass to the 3 yard line, Ravens just couldn't close the deal.

And PLENTY of people call the Pats on everything from "whining" to "spying" to "getting lucky breaks"... please it's simply a matter of good planning and great execution. That's it, no conspiracy theory or anything else is going to change that.

Califer, do the powers that be want us to win?...don't think so...I agree with you totally as the gloves are coming off for me again...sick of getting attacked constantly...I tried, but the bark is back on with me and this ""we own Goodell/NFL" conspiracy theory...we're the most hated team going!...if there is any conspiracy, it's the NFL bringing us down...and 2004?...well, didn't the Colts go to Tagliabue and make him install the new "5-yard contact rule" by that Polian?...it's a game of evolution with rules...we can't even touch a receiver since the Colts "whined"...HOLDIMORE last night and deep down, people know this after the first three quarters last night...where did Welker go? held....yup, making a couple of excuses...the tuck rule? yeah, Kraft made that rule, not the League...sigh...I'm sick of it

Where the hell have you been, son? People get all over the Patriots for everything, all the time. And how can you honestly say that the holding call was "questionable"? Consider yourself lucky it was holding and not PA, as it would've put the Pats at the 1 yard line with a 1st and Goal.
Seriously, if you're gonna side with a team, you should at least watch the highlights from the game if you can't handle staying up to watch the real deal.

I half to agree with you on that one. The Ravens did get ripped off.

your smooth in your posts bro...always cool and collected...just wanted to say that after this mentally draining season...hope all is well

that was for TC...and his Broncos looked nice yesterday...my "Bronco" cousins called me while I was pacing around house watching PITT-NE...was so painful watching that or trying too...LOL!

the reality is that the Pats have been the primary beneficiaries of the NFL's ever-changing enforcement of penalties. It started with the 'Tuck Rule' which was changed the following season. Then it was the lack of calls against the Pats DBs who were clutching, holding the entire AFC championship game against the Colts. Again, this season the refs have called those grabs/clutches much more closely than in prior seasons. Which leads to the critical calls (illegal contact and holding) last night near the end of the game.
I'm not suggesting any conspiracy, but merely opining that the Pats definitely get more than their fair share of lucky breaks.

The better you are, the luckier you get. Simple as that.

that is so Naive...it all comes down you saying that 'the big bully on the block gets everything handed to him, not take it"...c'mon

The Patriots are the best team in the NFL, and maybe the history of the NFL.

Any questions?

They're 12-0 and you're calling them lucky. You ought to go back to watching figure skating, kid.

haven't you heard? alot of Dallas fans are arlready the best and in the Suoer Bowl...search some articles...being sarcastic...are we saying that? nah...just waiting...good to run into Pats fans bro...good post

already and Super...lame spelling

See: "The Patriot Rule".

Patriots crush Indy in the playoffs by playing physical (imagine that...playing a physical game of football). Following the season, the NFL makes it much harder for DBs to touch receivers.

Patriots respond by winning another Super Bowl.

awesome...so true...hey, a Steelers player guarantees victory...man, never do that...

funny!

Listen.. Ravens had their shot and blew it.. The refs are going to favor them.. and come to think of it.. sometimes you have to play the game.. defensive coordinator got to rattled up on formations he didnt let the players play. He tried to make a good call and it backfired..

We know Reed and Lewis never talk trash, so why would anyone talk trash to them?

yeah dude, reed and lewis are classy guys.

And Lewis never killed anybody either. Obviously. He's classy, he would never do that.

I think the Patriots have been very lucky. No conspiracy at all. But I've seen lucky teams in the past lose that luck in the play offs. That's just the way it is.

yeah, they were very lucky for the first 11 games...shut up...Lucky sure in HODIMORE because they don't have coaching staff we have...we'll take the W

We will see what type of luck it will be in the playoffs VERY soon!!! ;) Do you feel lucky?

Hey Pink, I can't wait until this season's over...really...no matter what happens...kind of have one eye on 08' too...props
