Common sense says the Giants should at least listen to offers for Shockey

Shockey
I know I'm just a mere blogger and not an NFL GM, so I try to avoid Bill Simmons-esque delusions of grandeur, but my only question is this: how vital can a player be to a team when that team won three road playoff games and beat and undefeated juggernaut to win the Super Bowl without him?

    Shockey decided against attending the Super Bowl, so they actually won without him being within a couple of thousands miles of the team. Plus he's a douchebag.

    Actually Shockey WAS at the Super Bowl but not on the field. He was up in a box seat watching on. I for one love Shockey but have to give it up to rookie Kevin Boss who did a fantastic job in his place and fit right in with the offense. I would hate to lose Shockey but at least we know Boss can get the job done.

      Shockey being out helped Eli grow up. Didn't have Shockey whining for the ball on every. I think that NY should keep him. He is a good tight end and blocker. Just needs to get his head screwed on right and accept the fact that he is not the only receiver on the team.

    Makes sense. It seems that Shockey and Tiki might have been bigger distractions in the huddle than Plaxico.

    Shockey commands too much attention on the field to get rid of him...if he can drop some of the antics but keep that intensity he is irreplaceable.
