Dallas Cowboys Talk With Miami About Marion Barber Trade

NFL Network reported during the combines today that the Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys are discussing a trade for the top pick. It was reported Dallas is considering trading Marion Barber and three picks for that top pick, which is going to be for Darren McFadden.

McFadden's stock went through the roof today after he ran a 40 sprint time of 4.27, the fastest of the combines.

If this trade happens, there will be a horde of Cowboys fans that will go berserk. I am one of them. This trade really makes no sense because any dumb bell could see that the Cowboys need a ton of help in the secondary. That is the team's most-pressing need. How the Cowboys address it is going to be incredibly huge for the future success of this football team. Seeking solutions in later rounds isn't going to cut it. We cannot play a game of craps shoots with the secondary anymore!

Then, there is an aging wide receiver corps. Miles Austin and Sam Hurd aren't going to be stars in this league. The Cowboys need to find a replacement for Terry Glenn and Terrell Owens.

Marshal Faulk and Rich Eisen couldn't stop talking about Jerry Jones and the Cowboys giving the Arkansas running back such a strong look. Reportedly, Jones left after McFadden ran the 4.27.

For the life of me I cannot figure out why the Cowboys are even considering this trade. The biggest problem I have with McFadden is he is top heavy. He's got chicken legs. I could tackle him by his chicken legs.

Then you look at a running back like Jonathan Stewart's lower body and his 230-pound frame. You wonder how the heck he ran a 4.44. I wouldn't want to be in front of J.S. at full speed.

I will keep an eye on this development, but I knew the tardiness of signing Barber is a signal of bad news. And remember, you heard it here first.

Sounds good I lknow how J. Jones likes Arkansas guys, I still dont see this happening because Dallas runs a two back system, so I doubt they'll let Barber go.

I hope it does happen. I think Miami would be better off and that Dallas will be putting their future in flux by giving up players (Barber a proven commodity) and draft picks. Sure, McFadden is fast but I don't see him bowling over defenders like Barber.

i think theyre gonna let go of barber which is dumb because (asmuch as i hate to say it about a cowboy) hes sick

I don't think but I hope Jerry Jones is stupid enough to do this! Barber is a great back and as much as I'm praying for an impact deal in free agency I pray they let barber go and gamble on unproven McFadden losing one first round pick and wasting a lot of money! KEEP OUR NFC EAST TITLE WARM CAUSE ITS COMING BACK HOME IN 08!)

haha i like it fanatic, good comment

As an Eagles fan, I would LOVE to see Marion Barber traded out of the division!

def

I won't believe this is even a possibility until it actually happens...

I don't think it's going to happen either unless they trade up and try to get McFadden, but I don't think that will happen either. Barber is going to stay.

This talk is ridiculous. Would you give three first round picks and one third round pick for Barry Sanders in his prime? And that doesn't even take in the fact that by doing so you give up a proven strength on your team and do not address a single weakness. You guys need a hobby 'cuz this isn't your cup of tea.

MARION BARBER IS NOT BARRY SANDERS. POINT BLANK PERIOD

MARION BARBER IS NOT BARRY SANDERS. POINT BLANK PERIOD

They have 3 first round picks to trade? I'm pretty they're just talking about trading 3 picks and Barber. As a Giants fan I'd love to see this happen!

Won't happen. The Cowboys can improve a fairly young team with two good 1st round picks. If they trade, they would have to get more than just a good running back out of the deal.

Bad idea!

ya kno wat I hope dey do dis dumb shyt less competition in the NFC EAST

The competition is only going to get better in the NFC East. And, it won't be the Cowboys on the bottom, I can almost guarantee that.

well it wont be us @ tha bottom.. we gonna be tha champs

Good luck.

Mcfadden is just some runnung back that wont even go far in the nfl.He has no chances because he cant break tackles to save his life. he also has off the field issues Marion barber is one of the new favorites for cowboys fans and i am one of them. if they make the trade it will be the worst move in cowboys history. If they get him he will probably just end up like michal vick in jail.

I don't think McFadden has the same kind of pedigree as Vick. I wouldn't go that far. He's not as tough as an Adrian Peterson, but he will definitely be a force somewhere barring injury. Of course, there have been major busts in the NFL before , but I don't think McFadden will be one of those. Barber is an animal, but can he carry the ball 20-30 times a game? That's my concern.

how can youhave a concern when a back-up runnung back is a few yards away from a 1000 yard season. and may i mention the fact he was in the pro bowl

Yes, but he didn't ever play a full game all season execpt for the last one against the Giants.

Marion barber against the giants had 27 carries for 129 yards and 1td for his first start. that would be fine with me if he played like that every game next season.

Yeah.....was a nice first half, but he didn't do much after halftime. That's the point I am trying to make.

If he can start a season then he can strengten his second half. and so far so good he aint gone yet.ters a reason es marion the barberion

His running style doesn't help his ability to play a whole game. Marion goes all out on every play and dishes out a lot of punisment. That takes its toll on the body during the course of a game.

no it doesent he could run all first half rest during halftime and then he would be fresh i win you lose.

About as fresh as he was in the second half against the Giants? What did he do in the second half? Wanna look up those stats? I don't have to. I was at the game.

ok you win but the cowboys are better off with marion barber

Won't argue that.

how long are you on the computer a day. cause your on just about every blog

Why the hell would Miami do this? They have two great backs in Brown, and Williams. The last thing they need is another back. If they wanted another back they'd draft McFadden their damn selves. What Miami needs is a lineman, defense or offense. I can almost guarantee the trade wont happen. Sorry NFC East fans.
